Historia
The annual Shady Palms Corn Festival is one of the town’s biggest moneymakers, drawing crowds from all over the Midwest looking to partake in delicious treats, local crafts, and of course, the second largest corn maze in Illinois. Lila Macapagal and her Brew-ha Cafe crew, Adeena Awan and Elena Torres, are all too happy to participate in the event and even make a little wager on who can make it through the corn maze the fastest—but their fun is suddenly cut short when a dead body is found in the middle of the maze…and an unconscious Adeena lies next to it, clutching a bloody knife.

Can’t stand Elena so far!!
Revisado: 11-27-24
I’m just a couple chapters from the end and I have to say, I can’t stand Elena in this one! She’s being such a jerk and an idiot on top of it. I adore this series, but this has been an annoyance through this one, and the way Lila takes on the blame? I’m hoping ahead puts her in her place before the book is done.
Super frustrated with her!

Started strong but got tedious.
Revisado: 07-31-24
I really enjoyed the story for about the first 30 chapters or so but then it just got kind of tedious. Lots of overindulgent self doubt, the main character making repetitive excuses for the jerks around her, etc. I think the overall problem is that it’s just too long, in fact, I just checked out the chapter list because I was wondering if I could even finish the book and I see that there’s like 10 more chapters to go and it probably should’ve ended 10 chapters before now.
It’s a shame because the idea is really good. I’m going to listen to the end or maybe I’ll skip to the end.

Quality suspense, excellent humor, nice PG 13 romance.
Revisado: 03-25-24
I loved listening to this book, it was at once both a suspense and a romance, and covered both well!
Hysterical at times, nerve racking and intriguing

A pasture of dead trees, a hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons, and shipments that have mysteriously gone missing—Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams. In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, she enters a contest with instafamous influencer Evelyn St. James. Had to stop listening a couple chapters before the end
Revisado: 01-26-24
I really loved the story up until chapter 24. The lead female character just became ridiculously obtuse to me. Don’t want to give the story away, but basically she really wanted something and when it was given to her, she adamantly refused it, despite clear and explicit proof that it was real.
I might go back and listen to the last few chapters, but probably not.

Word to the wise, never become roommates with a girl you’ve been pining over for the better part of a year. You're probably wondering why I would do such a thing? Well, I didn’t. It was my teammates. The moment they found out Blakely White was single, they took it upon themselves to play cupid and instruct me on how I should win her over. Don't wear a shirt around her. Make her dinner. Lightly touch her shoulder when you say goodbye. I'm so flustered, so overwhelmed, so madly in love with this woman who barely notices me.

Historia
The many lives of theoretical physicist Elsie Hannaway have finally caught up with her. By day, she’s an adjunct professor, toiling away at grading labs and teaching thermodynamics in the hopes of landing tenure. By other day, Elsie makes up for her non-existent paycheck by offering her services as a fake girlfriend, tapping into her expertly honed people-pleasing skills to embody whichever version of herself the client needs. Honestly, it’s a pretty sweet gig—until her carefully constructed Elsie-verse comes crashing down.

Can’t wait for her next book, but…
Revisado: 11-30-23
This story was so funny! I laughed out loud many times. The author did a great job pairing these characters. My one complaint, that really almost made me stop listening was the diabetes story line. It was over the top and not realistic, a couple times I thought, “that would not happen “ and it was irritating. If that stuff was downplayed and more realistic I would have given the story 5 stars.
Overall, I loved this book!! And I can’t wait to read more from her

Stopped at halfway point…
Revisado: 11-21-23
The story took too long to go anywhere really. At the halfway point there was finally a development but when I checked to see how many chapters were left and saw I was only halfway, I stopped listening.
The narrator was good, but the writing isn’t great and many separate conversations seem like the same conversation.

Historia
I got the dreaded phone call, the one every baseball player hopes and prays never comes. I was traded - yeah, that phone call - traded from my longtime team of over 10 years to not just any team...to my childhood rivals, the Chicago Rebels. I was completely and utterly screwed, right? Wrong. The trade was the least of my concerns. I met a girl, Natalie. She was perfect, but I swore I would never get involved with anyone during the season. It was too complicated. But can you believe I had zero restraint when it came to this girl?

Started so strong, but second half of the book ruined by the female lead
Revisado: 08-08-23
I loved this book till about halfway through when the inevitable problem arises. I found the female lead to be annoying and unreasonable. The character really made everything worse when it didn’t need to be.
And then the male lead took all responsibility for the problem while I’m yelling, “it WAS her fault” lol

Talented chef Meg Delaney hasn't spoken to her cheating ex-fiancé, Matt Midland, for two years. Ditching him at the altar after blurting out "I can't" instead of "I do" would sour any relationship. But now, just as Meg is finally ready to bury the hatchet, she learns closure is permanently off the menu. And the kicker? Matt's brother, Kyle, is back in her life, stirring up feelings that are equal parts guilt and lust.

Disappointed in lack of heroine’s backbone
Revisado: 03-19-23
At first I was slightly put off by the hero’s attitude toward the heroine and how he sided with the antagonist. But then, the heroine repeatedly fails to stick up for herself and ends up giving in to not only the unfounded financial demands of the antagonist’s family but also @@SPOILER@@ falls for the hero who has proven to be a huge jerk.
Just kind of annoyed by a few of the choices that caused this book to miss the mark for me.
Good points: it was funny and Tawna Fenske’s writing style continues to hit it out of the park.
