Historia
With the advancement of the internet, changing worldviews, and the rising generation of millennials, Latter-day Saints today face unique challenges to faith on an unprecedented scale. Unlike most books written to help those struggling with their testimonies, Bridges: Ministering to Those Who Question is written to help local leaders and family members better understand the sources of these challenges and how to minister to those affected by them.

This program is read by the author.
Marc Brackett is a professor in Yale University’s Child Study Center and founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. In his 25 years as an “emotion scientist”, he has developed a remarkably effective plan to improve the lives of children and adults - a blueprint for understanding our emotions and using them wisely so that they help, rather than hinder, our success and well-being. The core of his approach is a legacy from his childhood, from an astute uncle who gave him permission to feel.

I learned so much! I hope that everyone can learn this! it would be great if there were training classes that families can go to also. I can't wait for this to be implemented in all the schools! everyone needs to be heard, seen and understood- more compassion would be in our communities and across the world.

Historia
Many people grapple with destructive thought processes or a "critical inner voice" that directs their behavior and, to varying degrees, limits their lives. Using deeply personal and very human stories based on his own clinical practice, noted psychologist Robert W. Firestone illustrates the struggles of his clients to give words to this "enemy within", and in the process overcome its damaging influence.

Book of stories
Revisado: 08-06-21
This was a very interesting book. I was expecting more applications of the principles then stories. But there were definitely more stories than application. Luckily the appendix has a quick application of the process of overcoming destructive thoughts and there's a reference to another book that he wrote about overcoming destructive thoughts. I think the process is great the application is great and truly a self-elevating process. I can't wait to read the other book.

Wow! This story was full of hardship, but it was captivating and a great read. It was a good continuation of the Sarah Prine story, showing how a hard working woman could get through so much with determination, faith, family, and a will to move forward.
