Fun adventure + engineering details = made me smile

At many points during this book I found myself smiling. It was a fun adventure story where an unexpected person goes on a wildly unexpected journey. I smiled because the main character went against his better judgment and went ahead with his journey. I also smiled because I'm an engineer's daughter and many of the details in the story made me think of my father. I'm not sure my father would've gone on the sailboat but I'm sure my father would've enjoyed all the details and the worldwide connections the main character made through letter writing. (Yet another connection with and fond memory of my father. ). I hope this brings you enjoyment as well.

What disappointed you about The Girl on the Train?

I got through chapter 29 as I wanted to see what others thought was so fabulous. I just could not bring myself to listen any longer. Too much detail about a drunk and self-sorry person.

Great spy novel for a long drive

Pretty much guessed how the plot would twist and turn based on this author's style but I still enjoyed listening.

Hard to judge quality of book due to poor narrator

I should have listened to the preview. The narrator was TERRIBLE! I could have narrated the book better myself. It is like he just picked up the book an started reading. His chinese accents were absolutely cartoonish. I really could not tell you if the plot or storyline were good as it was painful to listen to the book.
