I liked this taboo mafia romance a lot. Cheating doesn’t bother me and it was actually needed for the story to happen and character development for everyone involved. There were many times my jaw dropped at the little twists Laz manifested.

I didn’t have a good time with this books

I wasn’t having a good time. Marco is unlikable which is fine if the rest of the story is engaging but it’s not.
As an audiobook it wasn’t great. The voice actor grates on my nerves. He does have a perfect voice for a selfish man-whore that blames everyone for the collapse of his life.

This Fever series has been part of my life for 15 years. It’s been a rollercoaster ride watching Mac grow from a selfish and naïve girl to a fierce and powerful woman that can ask for help. That can finally trust those in her inner circle.
I didn’t like Dani much until High Voltage. For that matter I had issues with Ryo too. They redeemed themselves for me. And Ryo’s journey is not what I expected. It’s good. It makes sense.
Mac and Barrons. Their love story is unconventional to say the least. But it burns hot and true. Their passion flamed these pages without one sexy time scene. I love them together. I will miss the grumpy Barrons and his Rainbow Girl.
And yes, I cried reading the words: The End

I decided to listen to this short story because of the voice actor, Eric G Dove. He’s my all time favorite narrator. I would not have known about this author or story without his name attached.
The story is intriguing and well written/ spoken. I actually want to know about before the party, and also, the aftermath in more detail.

This audiobook is hard to follow because the British accent was jarring to listen to in this format. I love the accent in real life but the narrators accent was thick and she spoke fast. The story was a bit boring and any attempt to speed up the book was impossible because of the ACCENT!

Maya Banks is hit or miss with me. Her KGI series is so good but the smut isn’t the main plot device. Maybe that’s why that series is good. This book while may have a decent plot the relationship is based on a lie from the first second. And the attitude toward kink bugs me.
The author uses the Hero as a mouthpiece for why M/s is cliche and annoying to him, YET his type of kink is a la weekend warrior passing himself off as a seasoned kinkster. Denying orgasm, using a crop, and backdoor sex doesn’t make you an authority on BDSM. It just means you like to play while having sex. Why is it so hard for authors to grasp the concept that BDSM isn’t just about sex?
I KNOW WHY, it’s just a plot device. It’s offensive.
The biggest turn off for me was how the smut was written. I don’t need to know every detail and movement of the act. This isn’t a “how to have sex” book, it’s supposed to erotica.

I’m not going to lie I picked this audiobook purely because Eric G Dove was the narrator. I love his voice, ok I have a crush on the man’s voice BUT this story was really good! And so HOT! Steamy scenes everywhere. This is almost a perfect PNR, had it been full length it would be perfect.

I DNF’d at 60% and I only let it go that far because I wasn’t even listening to the story. I spaced out. It’s the same as book 1 with the secrets, angst, and creepiness ratchet up to vomit worthy levels. Why were these books written.
Gideon is gross and Eva has zero backbone.
