Historia
The virus now known as Stuxnet was unlike any other piece of malware built before: Rather than simply hijacking targeted computers or stealing information from them, it proved that a piece of code could escape the digital realm and wreak actual, physical destruction—in this case, on an Iranian nuclear facility.

I loved this book!!
Revisado: 01-11-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Countdown to Zero Day to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the detail the author went into. I learned so much more than just what Stuxnet was. The author educated me on many geo-political issues as well. This was wonderful.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
The level of difficulty in launching such an attack, and the difficulty in controlling it once launched.

Historia
Technological advances have benefited our world in immeasurable ways, but there is an ominous flip side: our technology can be turned against us. Hackers can activate baby monitors to spy on families, thieves are analyzing social media posts to plot home invasions, and stalkers are exploiting the GPS on smart phones to track their victims’ every move. We all know today’s criminals can steal identities, drain online bank accounts, and wipe out computer servers, but that’s just the beginning.

If you could sum up Future Crimes in three words, what would they be?
An awesome book!
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
The depth of research, the examples given, the breadth of subject matter. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing book.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
How practically EVERYTHING we do online is parsed, stored and resold for profit.

Not a great value.
Revisado: 01-11-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I have no idea.
Would you ever listen to anything by Gwyneth Strong and Penny Dyer again?
No.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I was disappointed in the quality. Much of it seemed to be recorded out in public - with poor recording equipment.
Any additional comments?
Seems like she was giving some woman that was with her a lesson. She recorded that lesson, and decided to resell that lesson to the public. Essentially you are paying to listen in on someone else's lesson.

Felt ripped off.
Revisado: 01-11-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I didn't hear a single lesson in this book. It was great hearing how talented the author is - and he is quite talented. But this book is nothing but an "audition tape" showing you how good he is.
What could Paul Meier have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Unless it came very late in the audio - there was no training to speak of. Just listening to this very talented individual show off his own talents.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
He wasn't training anyone that I could find. But perhaps it came in one of the later CDs. I gave up on it and didn't finish it since after two CDs he still hadn't given a single lesson.
What character would you cut from Accent Your Character - Standard British English?
The author.

Historia
In its final report, the 9/11 Commission famously called the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia "a problematic ally in combating Islamic extremism". To Gerald Posner, the best-selling author of Why America Slept: The Failure to Prevent 9/11, this is a gross understatement.

Gave up on it. Seemed repetitive.
Revisado: 01-11-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The author spent almost two hours telling us how bad the Saudis are as a people. Recanting endless story after story of their horrific beliefs and behaviors. I got the point after 15 mins. Wanted him to get to the point of the book which was the relationship between the US and Saudi govt. He would briefly mention an oil company, then launch back into bashing Saudis again. It got monotonous.
Has Secrets of the Kingdom turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I will look for a book that actually gets to the subject.
Did Alan Sklar do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Pretty much every character was the same. Rich, spoiled and awful.
What character would you cut from Secrets of the Kingdom?
N/A
Any additional comments?
You don't like Saudis - we get it. But sooner or later you should have gotten to more political issues.

Historia
In late 2010, thousands of hacktivists joined a mass digital assault by Anonymous on the websites of VISA, MasterCard, and PayPal to protest their treatment of WikiLeaks. Splinter groups then infiltrated the networks of totalitarian governments in Libya and Tunisia, and an elite team of six people calling themselves LulzSec attacked the FBI, CIA, and Sony. They were flippant and taunting, grabbed headlines, and amassed more than a quarter of a million Twitter followers.

Revisado: 02-15-16
Would you consider the audio edition of We Are Anonymous to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version but I loved the audio version.
What did you like best about this story?
The way the story is told is almost like a good fiction book. Kept it very entertaining.
Which character – as performed by Abby Craden – was your favorite?
I loved them all. Abby did a fantastic job with her different voices. She was excellent and fun to listen to as a narrator.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reactions, just found it very intriguing.

Good information, even for techies.
Revisado: 01-06-15
Where does Darknet rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I enjoyed this book. I am certainly a techie but not necessarily focused on security and anonymity. This book brought together a lot of good information that I was "somewhat" aware of but didn't quite understand.
What did you like best about this story?
The book was informative but concise and not full of meaningless fluff.
What about John T. Parker’s performance did you like?
I thought the narration was quite good. Clear and evenly paced. The narrator had no annoying or distracting mannerisms.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from Darknet?
There are a lot of important precautions one can take to employ both privacy and a high degree of anonymity.
Any additional comments?
I would recommend this for anyone interested in learning the basics of privacy and anonymity.

Historia
Just as there are thousands of stock trades that happen each day, there are thousands of reasons to start trading. There are many people that trade because they are looking for financial gain. However, there are also some people that just enjoy the whole process and want to participate in the market economy. There is also a great deal to be learned from trading stocks as you have the opportunity to really see how the government handles commodity regulation.

Very, very, basic information. I was disappointed.
Revisado: 07-24-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
There should have been at least a few concepts that were not common-sense. I know very little about the stock market, and yet practically everything presented here I knew already. I was very disappointed.
Has Learn the Stock Market turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I am sure there are more comprehensive books out there written by someone who actually wishes to impart knowledge on the subject.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Claton Butcher?
I felt his narration was a bit strange. Like he was speaking to children. At times it sounded similar to a text to speech application.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Learn the Stock Market?
I would have not written this at all. Unless you are marketing it to tweens or perhaps teenagers who had never even heard of the stock market before.

Perfect. Except for . . .
Revisado: 01-24-14
What did you like best about Confident Public Speaking? What did you like least?
The content of this audio is very good. Susan Leahy's voice and delivery is perfect and entertaining. This would have been a perfect production. Except . . .
The entire audio is strewn with a cacophony of irrelevant sound effects, noises, and music that litters virtually every paragraph of the recording! Literally every few seconds there is a distracting car horn, a slamming car door, pneumatic wrenches, banging metal, burglar alarms, whatever strange and completely unnecessary noise they could think of to distract from the content. I have NO idea why these persistent noises were deemed valuable or worthy of inclusion. It comes across as juvenile and silly, and competes with the very, very good job that was done on the real content. There is a reason why very few recordings try this technique . . . because it's pointless and adds no value.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Confident Public Speaking?
I loved the structure of the audio. Everything was clearly stated and concise.
Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first time hearing Susan Leahy. I really enjoyed her performance.
Was Confident Public Speaking worth the listening time?
Yes. There is a lot of valuable content in it.
Any additional comments?
Stop with those silly and distracting sound effects.
