Historia
When Inspector Kate Dawson, a homicide detective from the San Francisco Police Department, is called in the wee hours of the morning, little did she know what would be waiting for her on the tarmac of San Francisco International Airport. Air Force One has landed with a corpse in the lavatory; the victim is a beautiful Fox News reporter, known as the "fair and balanced" girl. Apparently, she enjoyed kinky foreplay, like having her oxygen supply limited, a gasper, but it just went too far...or did someone else take advantage and finish her off?

I hope it will be a movie based on this story.
Revisado: 12-24-19
From the murder of a female reporter in the opening minutes to a confrontation with a Cold War Soviet spy, the story was incredibly riveting; the writing was also masterful and the characters were just so nicely well written. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, trying to anticipate what was going to happen next. So much amazing information; so much to learn. The narrator Kevin Chambers one of the best I ever heard. Beautiful voice and a great performance. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

AMAZING STORIES WITH UNPREDICTABLE ENDINGS.
Revisado: 12-20-19
These are Hugo nominee’s short stories (third or fourth time.) After reading and listening it I understood why. I love all the stories and not able to say what was the best. I believe it would be excellent movies if the author will write movie scripts. I was reading the book and bought it in an audio version. Excellent work of the narrator Geoffrey Boyes. Highly recommend this book to everyone.

Frighteningly “Real” Thriller!
Revisado: 11-09-19
When I started listening to the story, I realized just what a genius work of fiction this book actually was. Genius Title! The “architects” of the title refers to the leader and a handful of inner-circle members of a religious sect, known as the End Times Ministries, who are actively working to bring about “Armageddon,” or the end of the world. Inspector Kate Dawson, a homicide detective with the San Francisco Police Department, stumbles upon their nefarious plans while investigating a murder-suicide in the City by the Bay. She tries to stop them – in spite of her romantic attraction to one of the sect’s members – but is always one step behind. With the Doomsday Clock set at Five Minutes to Midnight, Dawson races against time to disarm an atomic bomb that will trigger a global war with extremist Jihadists from the Middle East. To say anything more would ruin this “end-of-the-world” thriller. I will just add that Kate Dawson and her fellow detectives are very nicely developed characters who are very real, flawed people trying to do their best at a very crazy moment in time. The plot was frighteningly “real,” seemingly torn from the front page of the New York Times. My drudgery in driving a long-distance for work was relieved, and I actually looked forward each time I got behind the wheel because of the story that was waiting for me. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Historia
Life on the planet Jupiter? Former Senator Mitchell Ryan had always been told the violent, storm-tossed world was devoid of life. He had dismissed rumors of a strange life form living in the energy rich atmosphere as mere fantasy. Confronted with several mysterious deaths, sabotage, and similar acts of terrorism - possibly perpetrated by wealthy politicians who profit from the current crisis of fear - Ryan faces a dilemma that will change his life and determine the fate of the solar system forever.

Good Dramatic Moments! Great Social Commentary!
Revisado: 10-14-19
Does Mankind have the right to destroy the environment and intelligent lifeforms of one of its closest neighbors in the solar system in order to save itself from extinction? There’s a real mystery at the heart of the story, with intrigue, suspense, and thriller aspects, with both a saboteur and an assassin aboard the space station. Both are willing to destroy the station at the cost of their own lives in order to fulfill an agenda that is hidden below the surface.
When Flynn wrote the book originally in 2006, he made certain guesses and speculations that have come true, and that makes him a kind of prophet or wizard with a crystal ball as far as I am concerned. I take exception with the reviewer who left only two stars on Amazon for the author’s imaginative efforts. Obviously, the reviewer’s view was so myopic that he could not find the forest because all of the trees were blocking him from seeing it. Simply because the author did not have an explanation of how they were going to move the rare resource doesn’t rate a 2 or 3-star demotion.
In 2006, Flynn speculated that liquid metallic hydrogen, which would eventually prove to be powerful enough to run an entire city, was in Jupiter’s atmosphere; he didn’t know it then - no one did - but he made an educated guess that science has now proven to be factual. The author was much more interested in telling a first-contact story about humans meeting Jovians than writing a how-too book about moving natural resources from Jupiter around. You should remember that this IS a work of speculative fiction, not a science text book. I challenge that reviewer to write a better story than the one that Flynn has written. From my perspective, it is not only well written, with great characters and ideas, but also well researched. Science fiction novels don’t get much better than this.

Intriguing and Mysterious Suspense.
Revisado: 09-23-19
Intimate Bondage by John Flynn is a fast-paced, page turner that kept my interest all throughout. Although billed as a romance with fetish elements, like 50 Shades of Gray, I consider it as a solid, suspense thriller set against the backdrop of the BDSM underworld of San Francisco. In order to redeem herself for the loss of her daughter in a senseless killing, Kate Dawson goes undercover to catch a serial killer, and finds herself face-to-face with a criminal mastermind. She is aided by a host of unique and quirky characters, not the least of which is a psychologist with a penchant for playing mind games with her. The writing and editing is flawless; the plot is complex and thoroughly professional. In my new effort to strive for brevity, let me end my review here, by stating, the book deserves five stars out of five for its entertainment value alone. The story kept me captivated for a six-hour long trip to friends in another state.

WOW! That is a great story! Brilliant writer!
Revisado: 08-07-19
I listened Merchants of Death by John L. Flynn in one breath. I love the book! From the chilling opening, in which a Bart subway car reaches its destination with everyone on board dead, to the twists as the thrilling plot unfolds, this book grabbed me, held me tight, and never let me to stop listening. It has edge-of-your seat action, blood-curdling suspense, intensely-real characters, and a blockbuster storyline that you’d expect to see playing at the local Cineplex but is actually an audio book. Geoffrey Boyes lends his excellent narrative skills in relaying the events of the story and breathing life into Kate Dawson and her unique ensemble of supporting players. The book is not only immensely fun but also thoroughly researched with details that make every scene pop and sparkle with realism. Flynn’s writing style is absolutely top notch. I can’t wait to listening to other audio books in his Kate Dawson thriller series! Apparently, each book tells a separate story, and you don’t have to listen to the books in any particular order to enjoy the amazing adventures of SFPD Homicide Detective Kate Dawson. I took this audio book with me on my long trip, and I watched the miles fly by as I was whisked away on an incredible thrill-ride. I highly recommend this book to everyone!
