Historia
In the snowbound city of Kiev, wry and bookish history student Mila Pavlichenko organizes her life around her library job and her young son—but Hitler’s invasion of Russia sends her on a different path. Given a rifle and sent to join the fight, Mila must forge herself from studious girl to deadly sniper—a lethal hunter of Nazis known as Lady Death. When news of her three hundredth kill makes her a national heroine, Mila finds herself torn from the bloody battlefields of the eastern front and sent to America on a goodwill tour.

I enjoyed every minute of this book. It is based on true events that took place during World War II and contains a piece of American history I didn't know about. The story is interesting and keeps you wanting more and the narrator is terrific.
It is well worth the listen and the credit.

Historia
The year 1996 was the one that changed everything for Maggie Dawes. Sent away at 16 to live with an aunt she barely knew in Ocracoke, a remote village on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, she could think only of the friends and family she left behind...until she met Bryce Trickett, one of the few teenagers on the island. Handsome, genuine, and newly admitted to West Point, Bryce showed her how much there was to love about the wind-swept beach town - and introduced her to photography, a passion that would define the rest of her life. By 2019, Maggie is a renowned travel photographer.

This is a great but sad story that had me experiencing many different emotions throughout the book. Both narrators were fantastic. Definitely worth the credit.

Historia
The Cold Creek Highway stretches close to five hundred miles through British Columbia’s rugged wilderness to the west coast. Isolated and vast, it has become a prime hunting ground for predators. For decades, young women traveling the road have gone missing. Motorists and hitchhikers, those passing through or living in one of the small towns scattered along the region, have fallen prey time and again. And no killer or abductor who has stalked the highway has ever been brought to justice.

Good but not what I expected
Revisado: 01-25-20
I purchased this title during a prior audible sale. I found myself confused through a large part of the book and was disappointed because Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors.
It wasn't until I started book 2 in the series that I realized that this version wasn't the unabridged version and a lot of the book was left out. I am enjoying the second book more.
I may go back and read the full version of this book to see if my opinion changes. My note here is to always make sure you validate what you are getting.

Absolutely Terrific!!
Revisado: 01-04-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes - because the series is absolutely enthralling
What was one of the most memorable moments of Dragonfly in Amber?
I loved hearing the story of Jamie's life of the 20 years he spent without Claire from his perspective.
Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?
I love them all!! I don't think it would be fair to pick just one because she deserves credit for all of them.
If you could take any character from Dragonfly in Amber out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Jamie of course - who wouldn't!!
Any additional comments?
I gave this book 4 stars because Outlander is a really tough act to follow. It was almost as good but not quite. However, the apparent amount of time & effort the author spent creating this book is impressive and deserves to be commended. Truly - it does deserve 5 stars.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

Best book I have read this year!!
Revisado: 09-20-14
Where does Outlander rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
At the top of the list with an exceptional few others
What other book might you compare Outlander to and why?
I don't think I would compare it to anything I have read before. I found it unique.
What about Davina Porter’s performance did you like?
She is what narrator's should aspire to be like. You don't get any better than her.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but due to the length it would never be possible.
Any additional comments?
This is the first time I have been compelled to express my opinion on an audiobook. I loved every minute of this book and am so glad there are 7 more for me to listen to. One of my all time favorites.
