Narrators were great

Previous reviewers must really like this author to give such shining reviews. I just didn’t get the ‘edge of the seat’ feeling others spoke of. It was just meh at best. Hated the ending. I rarely write reviews and when I do it’s because I loved a book. Just never clicked with this one.

Storyline yes, but UGH…

Give me all the beach themed novels. Every. Single. One! After finishing The Echo Of Old Books I wanted to experience more from Barbara Davis and the storyline of this book does not disappoint. Also, I cringe when I read reviews where the narrator is listed as a reason someone doesn’t enjoy a purchase, yet here I am. 13+ hours of having the most difficult time keeping my attention. Even at 1.1 and 1.2 speed, the gaps between words and lift at the end of words/sentences made it so difficult on the ears. So far, I really like this author and will search out her books. This one may have been better as a page turner than a listener tho.

Family, suspense and dogs! Loved it

May have been my favorite NR book to date. As I patiently wait for The Mirror I’m finding some hits and misses. This was for sure a real HIT with me. Truly loved it from start-to-finish!

The chosen love of an ‘un’loveable

I truly wish others would review the books and not the narrators. Stick to storylines and plots. Just my opinion. Having said that, this is a very sweet book that moves at a steady pace. Predictable, yeah probably and I was 100% ok with it. I won’t soon forget about Alice or Julia and that’s what I like most about a good book. And for those off-put by previous reviews on narration, I do not agree with those reviews. I’ve not heard this narrator before and felt she did a good job distinguishing between all the characters. An enjoyable book.

VERY WELL DONE!

Loved the storyline and the narration. I was forced to power through the book as I was so on edge from beginning to end. I enjoyed hearing the voices of the artists I’ve admired for years and some that are much younger than me. Now I’m going to listen a second time, that’s how much I enjoyed this book. Very nicely done!

Enjoyed very much

From beginning to end, I enjoyed this book and the narrator very much. I was almost swayed by the negative reviews and I’m glad I purchased the book anyway otherwise I would have missed out on a great listen. Maybe because I don’t download EVERY Nora Roberts book, not sure but whatever the case I found the entire experience wonderful. And there was a dog, I mean come on people!!! This story centers around the life of a man, the choice to have a man as the narrator is perfect. Loved the characters and the descriptions of the houses and the beach, especially since I’ve never been to that part of our beautiful country. Definitely worth a listen.

This book was narrated so slow. Far too slowly for my taste. In my opinion it could have been done in half the time. Good story but I found myself annoyed by the pace.

Great change of pace

Kind of shocked at first it wasn’t a typical narrated format. Since I didn’t read the entire description, I wasn’t prepared. It was a great change and I quickly loved the rhythm. The story is fantastic and I was pretty surprised at the ending. 100% would listen to another by James Patterson in this same format!
