Beck highlights how conspirators are trying to overthrow our freedom step by step over many years. Although it's a work of fiction it's an excellent example of how real life conspirators are actually working to overthrow the freedom of all nations.

I A Patriot's History of the United States. However, the little bit about the founding of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) was definately biased to direct opinion against the church. I'm skeptical about what other biases may have skewed the telling of Schweikart and Allen's view of history. I'm also curious how American Indians (or Native American's if you prefer; neither is technically correct) would view the historical accounts related. A Lakota friend of mine told me he views the Caucasion view of history with the question "maybe."

I also want to make it clear that I have no hard feelings against Schweikart and Allen for their view of Mormons. In The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, Jesus said he would do a marvelous work and a wonder--referring to The Book of Mormon--but there would be those who don't believe it (3rd Nephi 21:9; Isaiah 29:14, KJV). I believe the vast majority of people would accept The Book of Mormon if they would let go of their biases, read it and ask God if it's truly His word. Clearly the authors haven't done that yet but there's still time.

I've read the Narnia series many times as a child and purchased this download so my children can understand why I bought the series. I have copies of the books for my children to read and since listening to the audio books they have shown more interest in the books.

What made the experience of listening to The Da Vinci Code the most enjoyable?

I appreciated learning some truths about history that I was previously unaware of. Recognizing of course that this is still a work of fiction and we need to be careful to discern between truth and fiction.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

IMPORTANT HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Where does Reagan's Secret War rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among historical records Reagan's Secred War is probably directly behind scripture and The 5000 Year Leap. I believe God sent Reagan to accomplish the good he was able to achieve and placed him in circumstances where he was able to achieve what needed to be done. I'm proud that Reagan's election was the first presidential election I was able to be a part of and I was able to cast my vote for this great American. Only the first 5 presidents and Abraham Lincoln can be placed in the same class of presidents. If we didn't have other government representatives so focused on destroying our freedoms I'm sure he could have brought us back in line to what our country should be.

What other book might you compare Reagan's Secret War to and why?

The Book of Mormon, The Naked Communist and The 5000 Year Leap. All these books highlight the conspiracies of groups who are seeking to overthrow the freedom of all nations and tells us that we need to focus on those who have been depleting our freedoms and replacing them with ruler's law. J. Reben Clark has said that there are only two forms of government, people's law and ruler's law. Skousen reaffirms this in his books and explains the importance of upholding politicians who believe in people's law.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me feel extremely pleased with my decision to vote for Reagan. I wish we had more politicians like him. I'm hopeful that freedom can be restored to the United States by our generation. The sooner the better. If we can do it sooner less blood will have to be spilled to defend ourselves and achieve a restoration of the United States Constitution.

Any additional comments?

It's perplexing to me that Reagan couldn't figure out why the Soviets were against SDI when the United States was planning to share the technology with them. To me it seems glaringly obvious. China and Russia intend to attack the United States and don't want us to have the ability to defend ourselves. They've clearly stated this goal over the years in statements I've read in the Las Vegas Review Journal and other publications.

In addition, the majority of government officials wish to overthrow our freedom and instill ruler's law with themselves at the head of government. We need to be prepared and stop voting for people who are taking our freedom away bit by bit. Reagan helped immensely but he didn't seem to be aware of the true intent of his enemies.

Where does Harriet Tubman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

For knowledge and information Harriet Tubman ranks in the top 10%.

What did you like best about this story?

It helped me view things from a different perspective. Being a white man I don't really consider race at all. I have friends and neighbors who are black but learning about slavery from the perspective of Harriet Tubman helps me empathize with her. I truly gained an affinity for this truly great woman who I believe was guided by God to do what she did.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was very interested to learn that she fell asleep without any apparent reason other than the injury she'd suffered. This must have been an incredibly dagerous experience and heightened the danger she was placed in.

Good Balance

Louv does excellent work balancing nature and the built environment. Obviously we have to have home, workplaces and colleges but we also need the natural environment. I don't think there's a problem building cities but as Louv points out there can be better balance between nature and the built environment than we currently have.
