Historia
Sometimes things don't work out exactly as planned. The Mesan Alignment has a plan - one it's been working on for centuries. A plan to remake the galaxy and genetically improve the human race - its way. Until recently things have gone pretty much as scheduled, but then the Alignment hit a minor bump in the road called the Star Empire of Manticore. So the Alignment engineered a war between the Solarian League, the biggest and most formidable interstellar power in human history.

Oh my goodness the narration is painful
Revisado: 08-02-23
I’m sure Mr. Collins did his best but this was hard to listen to. All of the names of places that are not based from English names sound like a language student trying to sound out new names. It sounds like he’s rushing every conversation. This series isn’t for him. If you have the time read this one on paper and skip the pain of the listen.

Historia
Welcome to Sunder City. The magic is gone, but the monsters remain. I'm Fetch Phillips, just like it says on the window. There are a few things you should know before you hire me: 1. Sobriety costs extra. 2. My services are confidential. 3. I don't work for humans. It's nothing personal - I'm human myself. But after what happened, to the magic, it's not the humans who need my help.

A bit haphazard
Revisado: 07-27-20
Don’t get me wrong it ultimately all links together but it feels a bit all over the place. The concept of telling a story with links and flashbacks telling the main character’s origins story isn’t uncommon but the way this one was executed just wasn’t very smooth. So overall the story was good and I might be interested to find out what happens next but I doubt I’d pay for a sequel. The narrator did an excellent job of telling the story so that is certainly a point in its favor.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Story was good, production has issues.
Revisado: 01-31-20
The story was good but the way it was produced made you have to back up often as there are 3 story’s going at once and story reader would not pause between one sentence and another. So it would make no sense as times as he would run story thread into each other with so much a as breath. Topic A into B into C without pause or shift in voices or anything. Made it hard to listen to at times.

Historia
Her Imperial Highness the Grand Duchess Victoria Maria Teresa Inez Smythe-Peterwald, daughter of wealth and power, was raised to do little except be attractive and marry well. Then everything changed - her brother, her father’s favorite and the heir apparent, was killed in battle by Lieutenant Kris Longknife, daughter of the Peterwald’s longtime enemies. Vicky vowed revenge, but her skill set was more suitable for seduction than assassination, and she failed. Angry and disappointed, her father decided she needed military training and forced her to join the Navy.

Reserving judgement
Revisado: 02-05-15
The story line is pretty good but the sex scenes were pretty awful. It seemed that either the author really wanted to be a romance novelist but only had sci-fi experience or he didn't have enough actual story line to fill a whole book so he crammed some sex scenes in there to take up space. The sexual banter was poorly written and there was far too much of it. I'm no prude but I kept thinking get on with the story this doesn't even have entertainment value. However, there was enough decent story content for me to give it another chance. We'll see if the next one is any better.
