Cute Stories
Revisado: 02-28-25
Hints of Spice:
I loved this storyline. Cin and Lan seem perfect for each other. The story of a single mother struggling to put herself through school and help her widowed mother, she finds love and it’s not full of trauma. Vera is annoying and I’m glad that she didn’t get what she wanted.
A Dash of Heat:
Maggie…poor girl. She’s very young and I’m glad that she found someone who isn’t about to play with her. Rene also seems like the perfect person for her. I LOVE how he handled the ex and the situation after the ex🤭
A Touch of Sugar:
Miss Pru and Xav…man oh man. The beginning of this story is funny!! Cause not Xavier carrying her like a cat would carry their kitten🤣. I love that she was able to pull him out of his shell.

Great storyline
Revisado: 02-26-25
It took me a little while to get into this book. The storyline and the trials that are talked about are very real. The author did an amazing job depicting those. Growing up in Arkansas myself, I can say that the mannerisms and the ways of “what happens in this house stays in this house” are real. I love that Mama Pearly stood up for her oldest daughter during her toughest time though. And the fact that she was willing to be estranged from her sister behind it speaks volumes of the mom she was. As for the twins…whew I was not expecting that turn of events, but once the story started unfolding, I knew that’s where it was going.
I was so happy that all the girls were able to release those years of hurt and anger and begin to heal and really love one another.
The narrator, Patricia R Ford did a wonderful job!! Her reading was very clear and precise and she conveyed the varying emotions so well.

Historia
A killer is putting the mangled, lifeless bodies of prostitutes on display in sleepy Northeast Tennessee. The murderous spree is accelerating. Two detectives, Lukas Miller from Johnson City and Brooke Stevens from Kingsport, have been assigned to hunt the killer down and stop him. Miller and Stevens are considered the best in their respective departments, and although they've never met, their superiors order them to work together in a coordinated effort to put an end to the violence as quickly as possible. Their reputations, and perhaps their careers, are on the line.

Very captivating story
Revisado: 02-21-25
This was a great thriller! Knowing a little about people and mental health, I quickly understood who and what they were up against. I was a little frustrated at how long it took them to realize, but once they were on it, things picked up quickly.
Such a smart, methodically planned out killer who was always a step ahead. It made you wonder how much more training the detectives need, or if this guy was really just that good.

A great book!
Revisado: 02-02-25
I really loved this series. The way she was able to let him try to respect the fact that Valley was married, but at the same time, didn’t really care that Valley was still married🤣.
I do think that they should’ve restructured this one and Makai. At the end of Makai’s book, he’s out of jail but in this book he’s still in jail.

A menace, I was, the duration of my life. Unsure of what was next, who was next, or where I was headed next. The only for-sure shit in my world was my paper and my people. The ice around my heart was still intact, never being penetrated or as much as tapped.

Gutted, I was the day you left my side, but I understood it was no one's fault but mine. I pushed you away, wearing my pain on my sleeve while pursuing a passion that stemmed from that very pain. In the end, you decided to choose yourself, and I could never fault you for that. But it hurt, and still does 'til this day.

His personal life is another matter, however. He lives by one simple rule—no strings, only flings. Sweet and Emotional
Revisado: 01-30-25
So far out of all the books so far, this was the fastest falling in love story so far. It has also been the most emotional for me. I almost cried when Dante was telling Jayana what happened to his father.

Gripping storyline
Revisado: 01-29-25
This was an awesome book. The story line was very gripping. I usually have to skip to the end to see how it turns out for the sake of my anxiety but this story flowed so well I didn’t need to. The narrators are great! I liked how the MMC talked in second person. It really reality type of feel for how someone could go through life with amnesia. He’s living it, but it’s like he’s watching himself live it.
I thought it was nerve wrecking and also clever how the author incorporated the prosecutor who is running for office and portrayed them in a realistic light. A lot of times, they don’t care about the truth, they just need a win.
I marked the overall at a 4 because there are some places in the book where the audio is botched. There’s a point in chapter 4 where the audio goes out completely so part of an exchange between Margot and Antonia is missed, In chapter 28 there is a point where the audio overlaps and you’re hearing tsp different parts of the story at the same time. Finally, in chapter 45, you can hear a real life reaction from the narrator. Also, a lot of times you can hear ambient background noise while the narrator is reading.
I would definitely recommend it!
