Historia
The day my mother was killed, she told my father I wouldn't speak again, and she told him if I died, he would die too. Then she predicted the king would sell his soul and lose his son to the sky. My father wants desperately to be king, and I just want to be free. But freedom will require escape, and I'm a prisoner of my mother's curse and my father's greed. In a land purged of enchantment, love might be the only magic left, and who could ever love...a bird?

Beautiful Narrative
Revisado: 07-07-21
I don't know if the author chose the narrator or if the narrator chose the author, but I kinda think it was destiny. Ms. Amy's words were spun in a way that draws you and keeps you listening. I haven't been that interested in reading fairy tale-type books in recent months. But my eyes were drawn to this one because it had a Beauty and The Beast quality to it. Call me a sucker, but I've loved that story since I was a little girl. I'm so glad our story is framed around it. The storyline surpassed my expectations! I loved the Heroine and the Hero. The side characters. I even loved how the antagonists were crafted too. You could also tell that time and heart were written in every line. And yes, of course, adults could and should sink their claws into this as well. I'd say about 15 and up.
Last but not least, I'm so very much excited and looking forward to reading and listening to books in this series and Ms. Amy's other books. One of my favorite authors to date.

Can't get enough!
Revisado: 11-29-16
Every time I read this book I fall in love with the characters all over again. Now that I've heard the audiobook, I love it all the more! The Narrator brings out Morrow's voice in soft but strong way. Her feelings and emotions were so pliable that I could imagine everything happening in the story so vividly! I also love this story because the couple went through many obstacles and challenges. It wasn't just a fall in love, happy ever after kind of book! It had lots and lots of substance. Great story. Cant wait to pick it up again.

The Greatest of Heyer
Revisado: 07-31-16
The First and in my opinion best of all Georgette Heyer's books. She brings light and bouncy to all of her novels with dry humor and sweet romances. The narrator infuses this with all of the characters in Devil's Cub. Every time I listen to it I laugh and root for the hero and heroine. The author gives them great magnetism and flare. I will love and continue to read and listen to Heyer's books for many years to come.

Historia
Two weeks before junior year, Darcy Walker hops a plane to Florida. Fresh off the high of solving three murders, she’s up for a little R&R with her best friend, Dylan, and his family. But even before her feet hit the Orlando soil, she meddles once again. The case of the disappearance of a five-year-old boy who vanished six months earlier looms like a passenger jet over a swamp. In turbulence. Above writhing, feeding alligators.
