Historia
America's most delightfully unconventional hostess and the bestselling author of I Like You delivers a new book that will forever change the world of crafting. According to Amy Sedaris, it's often been said that ugly people craft and attractive people have sex. In her new book, Simple Times, she sets the record straight. Sedaris shows that anyone with a couple of hours to kill and access to pipe cleaners can join the elite society of crafters.

David Isn't The Darkest Sedaris
Revisado: 10-21-17
I'm late to the party on Amy Sedaris. After reading and listening to numerous mentions of Amy in her brother's work I'm sorry I didn't check her work out sooner. It's dark. Don't let the pretty face and smile fool you if you're not familiar. The commitment to the joke in her chapter on crafting for the hearing impaired is worth the purchase of the audiobook alone.

Historia
When Norm Macdonald, one of the greatest stand-up comics of all time, was approached to write a celebrity memoir, he flatly refused, calling the genre “one step below instruction manuals.” Norm then promptly took a two-year hiatus from stand-up comedy to live on a farm in northern Canada. When he emerged he had under his arm a manuscript, a genre-smashing book about comedy, tragedy, love, loss, war, and redemption. When asked if this was the celebrity memoir, Norm replied, “Call it anything you damn like.”

This book has no right being this good
Revisado: 08-01-17
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it sure as hell wasn't the well thought out, hauntingly observant work MacDonald penned with this novel. All while remaining 100% Norm, even though it might be 100% Charles Manson.

Historia
Bryan Cranston landed his first role at seven, when his father, a struggling actor and director, cast him in a United Way commercial. Soon Bryan was haunting the local movie theater, memorizing and reenacting favorite scenes with his older brother. Acting was clearly the boy's destiny - until one day his father disappeared. Suddenly destiny took a backseat to survival. Seeking something more stable, perhaps subconsciously trying to distance himself from his absent father, Cranston decided on a career in law enforcement.

Come for Walter, Stay for Hal
Revisado: 12-21-16
What made the experience of listening to A Life in Parts the most enjoyable?
Cranston's ability to emote effectively without alienating an audience who doesn't act for a living.
Who was your favorite character and why?
It's all Cranston, start to finish.
What does Bryan Cranston bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The main reason I bought this audiobook was to hear Cranston's insight into Breaking Bad. However, once you get a few chapters in you get a sense that Cranston's seen his fair share of troubles (his delivery is great.) I went from wanting to hear about Walter White to being more interested in Hal Wilkerson simply because I wanted to associate Bryan with a more lighthearted character.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
His take-away from learning to repel.
Any additional comments?
It's always great to hear someone talk candidly about their life, good & bad. Auto-biographies can be a tough read but Cranston's life is a great listen.

Historia
As a prisoner of war, Andrew Jackson walked several miles barefoot across state lines while suffering from smallpox and a serious head wound received when he refused to polish the boots of the soldiers who had taken him captive. He was thirteen years old. A few decades later, he became the first popularly elected president and served the nation, pausing briefly only to beat a would-be assassin with a cane to within an inch of his life.

Absolutely One of the Funniest Books on Audible.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I finished this audiobook in two days. I wold have finished it in one but I stopped every couple of chapters to recommend it to anybody I thought would appreciate it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Fight Presidents?
It's a given that Teddy Roosevelt's chapter would be awesome (which is was) but I have to say Andrew Jackson might have been my favorite.
Have you listened to any of Richard McGonagle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Richard McGonagle's reading is absolutely, 100%, the best performance I've ever heard as it pertains to the material. I don't know if Audible hands out an award for perfection in comedic delivery, but if not, they should. And they should name it the McGonagle.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Ronald Reagan is Wolverine. Ronald Reagan IS Wolverine. RONALD REAGAN IS WOLVERINE.
