As much as I love her books I didn’t feel this had the authenticity of the others I have read. I didn’t feel as engaged in the characters (maybe there were too many for me) and I missed the great descriptions of the northern beaches!
Having said all that it was a fun easy read and I’ll still be listening to the next one Liane writes.

I enjoyed the story although a bit predictable but was somewhat put off by the narrators inability to correctly pronounce the simplest of words like quay (key) which he pronounces “kway”!

Jody Picoult never disappoints. Well written gripping mystery which kept me guessing til the end and for the first time in a long time I didn’t see the end coming.
Highly recommended

Great Story, but the narrator reads too fast

What did you love best about Evil Games?

Good plot and main character, as interesting and gripping as the first one

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Although I was able to work it out before the end, i enjoyed the twists and turns that the author took to get to conclusion

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The speed of narration is too fast for me (I had listen to an earlier book and thought the same, but forgot when downloading this)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, you have to take a break for your brain to catch up with the speed of narration

Unfortunately although I like the series the narration has put me off buying another one

Very Dark

The narrator spoiled it!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I am aware of the story line having seen it on UK TV decades ago and was interested to hear the book for this reason, as I know there is a twist but can't remember the end. However the american accent trying to do British accents was a mixture of poor Audrey Hepburn accents!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sculptress?

The prison guard who sounds like Eliza Doolittle (before) and the British main character who sounds like Audrey in a Roman Holiday with an american accented inner dialogue (which is actually a blessing)! Olive comes from DaRlington not Dallington and surely even Americans frown, not frowen - and I'm not through the first hour yet!

How could the performance have been better?

Select any British accented narrator - Pauline Quirk who played Olive in the UK Drama would have been excellent....at all the accents.

Could you see The Sculptress being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

It was and it starred Pauline Quirk who was brilliant in it.

What would have made Sarah Woods Mystery Series: Books 1-3 better?

A different Narrator and a better recording. If the narrator had spoken more slowly and in a more interesting manner and if the recording didnt sound as though it was read straight into an iphone, the simple stories are OK

Possibly - easy listening to pass a car journey if I have absolutely nothing else to listen to

The scenes were fine, just the narration that made it hard to listen to for long periods

I want to go to Florence!

What did you love best about Inferno?

A riveting story and a beautifully described tour of Florence and the history of Dante. I listen in the car and I found myself not wanting to come to the end of my daily commute, so that I could listen to more.
Thoroughly great read (listen!)

What other book might you compare Inferno to and why?

better than the Da Vinci code I thought in terms of historic fact and imagery
