Historia
After living in the United States for years, Maneka Roy returns home to India to mourn the loss of her mother and finds herself in a new world. The booming city of Hrishipur where her father now lives is nothing like the part of the country where she grew up, and the more she sees of this new, sparkling city, the more she learns that nothing―and no one―here is as it appears. Ultimately, it will take an unexpected tragic event for Maneka and those around her to finally understand just how fragile life is in this city built on aspirations.

Wonderful Read!
Revisado: 08-03-18
I am not even sure how one would give a synopsis or review of this book. It was wonderful and peculiar in equal measure. It managed to be horrifying, irreverently funny, and somewhat moving. I am so glad I read it!

Historia
Esther Ann Hicks - Essie - is the youngest child on Six for Hicks, a reality television phenomenon. She's grown up in the spotlight, both idolized and despised for her family's fire-and-brimstone brand of faith. When Essie's mother, Celia, discovers that Essie is pregnant, she arranges an emergency meeting with the show's producers: Do they sneak Essie out of the country for an abortion? Do they pass the child off as Celia's? Or do they try to arrange a marriage - and a ratings-blockbuster wedding?

Historia
The beloved New York Times best seller from acclaimed author Eleanor Brown about three sisters who love each other, but just don't happen to like each other very much. Three sisters have returned to their childhood home, reuniting the eccentric Andreas family. Here, books are a passion (there is no problem a library card can't solve) and TV is something other people watch. Their father - a professor of Shakespeare who speaks almost exclusively in verse - named them after the Bard's heroines. It's a lot to live up to.

Great story!
Revisado: 12-20-17
Okay... so there were parts that seemed a little wonky. I honestly don’t think that enough people in Ohio are Shakespeare fanatics that people would have regularly guessed that the sisters were named after Shakespeare characters. Also, the dad speaking in Shakespeare quotes almost exclusively was a little strange... Like, I wondered if he had autism for a large part of the book... But the story was good and the narration was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Weird sisters.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Amazing!
Revisado: 11-18-17
Andy Weir has a penchant for putting smart people in precarious situations in space. Artemis was better than The Martian. Though, it is clear that this is a man writing a female protagonist, I adored Jazz and loved this book! The reading was incredible!

Loved it!
It was a little forced with the messaging, but all together this was a great book. The message is important and valid... I just wish it had blended into the story a little better. The character of Seth was awesome, but felt almost like a caricature of a male feminist supporter. Still, it was nice of the author to show what a healthy relationship looks like in a YA novel. This is not a good book to listen to, but it is a great read. Regardless of how you feel about Hillary Clinton, she has had an interesting life and is a significant figure in modern political history and the book was so candid and open that I cried in the first chapter. This was a campaign that I will never forget and I enjoyed hearing her experience of it. Audible 20 Review Sweepstakes Entry.
