Magnificent expression of a therapist’s reality
Revisado: 01-17-25
Recommended for everyone that practices psychotherapy, no matter how much experience they have. The sole voice of a colleague describing such universal experiences yet so little spoken about has a positive effect in any practitioner.

Worth the listen, could have been shorter
Revisado: 12-17-23
Around half the book the main points were made. There’s too much illustrative material visiting and revisiting the lives of “masters”. All in all the storytelling is very good and the lessons can be very intuitive, Green just puts it all together, I guess as a Master does.

Malísimo
Revisado: 02-21-23

Historia
The culture of “safety” and its intolerance of opposing viewpoints has left many young people anxious and unprepared for adult life. Lukianoff and Haidt offer a comprehensive set of reforms that will strengthen young people and institutions, allowing us all to reap the benefits of diversity, including viewpoint diversity. This is a book for anyone who is confused by what’s happening on college campuses today, or has children, or is concerned about the growing inability of Americans to live and work and cooperate across party lines.

Necessary
Revisado: 08-01-20
This book gives you much needed social psychology lenses to understand the polarizing identities crisis we’re experiencing not only in the US but on a global scale.
Also does a great job exemplifying how cognitive distortions play a part y the ideological battles of the times we live.

Take ir for what it is: a Conversation starter
Revisado: 12-26-19
The info in the book is good enough to elicit conversations about sexuality and desire. Its strength comes from the fact that the data was provided by websites people interact with while having a sense of privacy, which means they’re not “covering” themselves and so the data shows aspects of human sexual interests usually not discussed publicly.
The downside of all this is it’s just observation and when it tries to back the data up with a specialist’s comment or so it doesn’t mention scientific studies or meta analysis of any kind. It even quotes a blogger at some point. None of this is actually scientific proof of what the book presents.
Again, it’s a good conversation starter, maybe after reading it or while reading it people can be more open to talk about what makes them feel desire or attraction.
The way it closes is basically recognizing the fact that desire is sexuality mediated by the imagination, which ultimately sounded as a safety measure in case someone didn’t agree with the rest of the book.
