Slow start but good finish although it could have gone farther!
Revisado: 07-21-23
I have been a fan of Dorothy Gilman’s book in the past so I thought I would give this a try. The book started very slowly and I thought the main character was whiny and shallow. As I got about 80% through the book I turned the corner and really got to rally for the main character! It caused me some self evaluation that we are all lacking in certain ways and it gave me encouragement in my own life! Good job Dorothy for taking a chance on crafting a book that doesn’t fulfill all of the simplest goals but causes the reader to look inward. By the way this is my first review after reading some reviews that painted this as a poor read. Don’t read it unless you are willing to look within.

The book was captivating.

First off I can't understand why there are any bad reviews? I very much liked the first book and read some bad reviews. I was tempted to skip this book but I decided what the heck, Audible is so good when I have returned a few books I didn't like. So what did I have to loose. What I almost missed was an exciting book. I am in sales so i.am constantly driving and I prefer Audible books to anything else. With this book I slipped into another world, my only disappointment was when I would arrive at a client and have to make a sales call and stop listening. I can't wait to download the next book!

A balanced view on being prepared.
Revisado: 03-22-16
The book gave an in depth look at ultimate prepping but then backed off and analyzed a balance between being prepared and being paranoid!

Historia
“In wartime,” Winston Churchill wrote, “truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.” For Britain’s counterintelligence operations, this meant finding the unlikeliest agent imaginable - a history professor named Alfred Vicary, handpicked by Churchill himself to expose a highly dangerous, but unknown, traitor. The Nazis, however, have also chosen an unlikely agent.

Historia
"It doesn't take an Einstein to understand modern physics," says Professor Wolfson at the outset of these 24 lectures on what may be the most important subjects in the universe: relativity and quantum physics. Both have reputations for complexity. But the basic ideas behind them are, in fact, simple and comprehensible by anyone. These dynamic and illuminating lectures begin with a brief overview of theories of physical reality starting with Aristotle and culminating in Newtonian or "classical" physics.

Weak finish
Revisado: 01-28-15
The author did an excellent job instructing and proving his points in a layman's terms. The last 2 sessions he tried to bring it all together to prove some of his personal hypothesis but it was so weak in relationship to the other sessions it was disappointing.
