Historia
When she was pregnant with her second child, Stephanie Arnold had a sudden and overwhelming premonition that she would die during the delivery. Although she tried to tell the medical team and her family what was going to happen, neither the doctors nor her loved ones gave her warnings credence. One member of the medical team who did take her concerns seriously enough made the fateful decision to order extra units of blood “just in case”. Then, during the delivery, Stephanie suffered a rare amniotic fluid embolism.

Enabled a Greater Understanding of Messages from the Other Side, and Reinforced My Own Feelings on Intuition
Revisado: 02-28-25
I was very disappointed that I was unable to attend this author's recent book presentation in South Florida, so, I decided to purchase the audible book without knowing much about her story. I couldn't relate to the story of her pregnancy, pregnancy-related complications, or the author's near-death experience, but I absolutely could relate to undeniable messages from beyond and my own instances of prophetic intuition. I greatly appreciated the author's insights about her experience, which offered a more enlightened way to think about the death of loved ones who have passed, particularly at a time when true comfort from such pain seems out of reach. I recommend this book for anyone who may need some hope and help dealing with the sadness of loss and reinforcement of "trusting your gut."

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Grim Tale
Revisado: 12-29-22
I enjoyed this story, though, it took quite a few chapters to finally reach the heart of the plot and, then, quite a few more to reach its ending. Like all fairy tales, there are lessons to learn about how to live a good, meaningful life, often through grim, long journeys and "trial by fire." But, once emerging from the dark end of the tunnel, daylight shines both within and without. Na, na, this Fairy Tale doesn't disappoint.
Finally, since a dog is a main plot driver and I read this book for a dog-centric book club, I prefer to think of it instead as a Fairy Tail 🐾

Murder Mystery -- with Dogs :-)
Revisado: 12-10-22
Read this for a dog-centric book club led by a private senior pet rescue and sanctuary, and dogs were definitely a big part of the story. The mystery was a bit far fetched (dog pun not intended, but fitting) and was a slow walk in introducing more and more characters and in developing the story, which was, for me, just OK. Subplots are familial relations and romance. An easy, enjoyable read, but not a blockbuster.
