"There are some things you just can't unsee"
Revisado: 08-19-19
I should have heeded the warnings in the reviews. I can handle violence in a book, but this book was the absolute worst I've ever read at depicting detailed, descriptive, graphic sexual violence. It made me feel sick. It is deeply disturbing and I wish I could "unsee" it. I know, I should have stopped reading after the first disgusting details, but the book was well written with such suspense, and the narrator is so good that I couldn't stop. But now that it's done, I wish I had never started. I feel like I need to give my psyche a deep cleansing after reading this. The author is a good writer. Her ability to make you hear, see, and feel her descriptive details would be fantastic if the subject matter wasn't quite so disgustingly dark. I am a fan of Stephen King and have not been this disturbed by any of his books. I will probably not read any of her other books. Not sure if they are all so disturbing or not, but not willing to take a chance.

Beautifully written
Revisado: 08-07-18
Amy Harmon's writing is haunting, mesmerizing, and emotionally charged, but in a way that is as raw and real as it is poetic and beautiful. This is a story that will break your heart and make you angry, and then make you feel all warm and fuzzy. The characters will frustrate you at times as you fall in love with them. From tragedy to triumph, hope to heartbreak, be ready to feel a lot from this story. I can't imagine anyone not being touched deeply by this book. It's a great read.

Not a bad story but.........
Revisado: 05-19-18
I found the characters to be predictable and cliche, and not very likable. When you really don't like the personalities of the hero and heroine, it makes it very hard to enjoy the story. The story itself wasn't bad, but it was also a bit predictable. It kept my interest enough to finish the book, and I didn't hate it, but not my favorite.

One of the best books ever!
Revisado: 05-19-18
This was one of the best books I've ever read. Both the writing and the narration are top notch. The story is so engaging, it never lets you go once it grabs you, from beginning to end. The characters are so real you will feel as if you know them personally. This book will warm your heart one minute and break it the next. Tragic yet tender, the author never lets you catch your breath, but keeps you at the edge of your seat with suspense and raw emotion. I can't say enough about how much I loved this book. It's my first Amy Harmon, but it won't be my last.
