Usually, I enjoy the details in Allison Weir's history, but the specifics of each piece of clothing, the jewelry, etc. of not only the wueens but the court ladies and the men of the royal houses became overwhelming. I enjoy the narrator, so overall it was worth the listen.

This author has a gift for sharing his vision for the worlds he created. I'd like to give 4.5 stars for story only because there was almost too much detail--but it doesn't detract from the overall movement, which is, in a word, epic. This would make a much better video series than Warhammer.

Great history of textiles...

...but too much personal details about family. I struggled while listening to the first two chapters, but it really kept my attention from there on. The travelog info gave a new perspective on where & how we have today's fabrics, & I really enjoyed that she covered "artificial" as well as natural cloth.

I've always enjoyed Asimov's stories, but this narrator is worse than a phone auto-voice! He was the ruin of an otherwise great book. I had been looking forward to hearing this, but can barely stand the voice. Maybe the publisher can re-record it with Scott Brick or ANYONE except this reader!

Easily worth 10 stars!

Not only does the pace and power of Luceno's story turn SW:TPM into a movie that makes sense (it's my least favorite), but the choice of Daniel Davis was absolutely brilliant. The depth and smoothness of his voice was the crown of perfection; he has the right touch of magnificent malevolence needed for a Sith-based story. I hope that if Random House decides to make the Darth Bane stories available on audio, they choose Mr. Davis as the reader. And thanks to James Luceno (ok, and George Lucas) for filling in all the unanswered questions about Palpatine, Dooku and the so-called "rule of two" among other things. I would highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys SW history.
