This book helped me a lot. I felt normal and my children felt normal. Advice was comforting and practical. Not something you listen to and think...oh ya right. I feel good about her advice and way of talking about issues. She was fun and easy to listen too as well!

Author brag session
Revisado: 08-04-23
This book was exhausting to listen too. The author goes on and on and on about her accomplishments. Her daughters accomplishments. She does a lot of name dropping like knowing successful people are her accomplishments too. l couldn't find much substance. Even her advice, when you got any, was inconsistent. One time she's telling you to follow your own path, trust yourself. The next she is critical if you co-sleep with your child. Another example is to model and give respect. All the while having no respect for men or her parents. The idea of "T.R.I.C.K. was interesting. But l could have learned the concept in a paragraph. The book was annoying and not useful.

performance is terrible
Revisado: 05-25-23
l love the Anne series! However this performance was awful. She voiced Anne as an old lady. All the children she voiced winey. It got so hard to enjoy the story. Next time I will read the book.

Historia
When Andrew McCarthy's eldest son began to take his first steps into adulthood, McCarthy found himself wishing time would slow down. Looking to create a more meaningful connection with Sam before he fled the nest, as well as recreate his own life-altering journey decades before, McCarthy decided the two of them should set out on a trek like few others: 500 miles across Spain's Camino de Santiago. Over the course of the journey, the pair traversed an unforgiving landscape, having more honest conversations in five weeks than they'd had in the preceding two decades.

wow!
Revisado: 05-19-23
l was deeply affected by this book. I felt like l was there with them. That was fun. Andrew's insights and commentary on Sam reminded me of my son. The ending summed up those 18 years of parenthood as your child becomes their own master. l have read every book of Andrew's. lt is hard to pick a favorite. l love how he is so honest, raw and vulnerable.

Historia
Perfectionism is a naturally limiting mindset. For example, kids are taught to color inside the lines, and any color outside the lines is considered a mistake that must be corrected. Imperfectionism frees us to live outside the lines, where possibilities are infinite, mistakes are allowed, and self-judgment is minimal.
