Historia
“Men want to be him, and women want to be with him”, that line couldn’t have been more fitting for the show subject in this episode, Hugh Hefner. Hugh was a pioneer in the porno world and his creation, Playboy, was the introduction of naked women to many in the American public. Hugh lived the life that many only dream of, and it seems as though all the stories have a ring of truth to them, both good and bad. As you can only imagine, the shenanigans that went on at the world’s wildest party house can only be left to the imagination. But did things go to far? What kind of ...

very well researched but funny, beware little ears
Revisado: 03-25-24
extremely well researched but often has crude humor that you may not want to have to explain to a kid, such as 'spit roasting a chick' so don't listen in the car with young kids. Aside from that you can tell the guys genuinely love what they do and each other's company, excellent chemistry and I love getting allll the tea from a reliable source and without having to look it up or verify it myself. i found the guys thru midnight facts for insomniacs so if you like AHC, check out MFFI!

Entertaining and educational
Revisado: 08-08-22
(updated) Been listening for several years now, I found them while doing research and was almost immediately hooked. The voices are easy to tell apart but both are enjoyable to listen to, they have fantastic chemistry, they aren't afraid to poke fun at themselves, and the episodes are very well researched. I worked 12 hr shifts overnight so needed something to listen to but that I could pause and not lose my place or get so sucked in I get distracted (audiobooks not great for some of the days) and podcasts, this one especially, really filled that need. I now have a toddler, and having this to listen to for those first sleepless months was a godsend. Now its a good way to feel connected, destress, laugh and feel less alone. I listen to a lot of podcasts, but this is one of my absolute favorites and it is very enjoyable even if you've listened to every episode, I enjoy relistening to them often!

Excellent reviews, fantastic chemistry
Revisado: 08-07-22
I love this podcast. Truly one of my favorites, and I'm not a movie fan but the chemistry between the hosts is amazing, they don't talk over each other, and they all have distinct voices so I can easily tell who is talking when. Additionally, I feel like they do a really great job of describing the movies so that I feel like I can see it in my imagination and they watch it so that I don't have to!
Insane amount of research goes into each episode, this podcast is clearly a TON of work but it pays off in the quality of the reviews and sound and just info given!
Bonus is that the clips inserted are always the same volume so that if you're dozing off or have headphones on you don't get deafened.

I hesitate to say fun given the subject matter but it's still been enjoyable to listen to. I like her voice and cadence and she picks cases that are often less sensational but equally deserving of coverage.
Plus the pics of her cat on Instagram are ADORABLE

One of my favorite books EVER
Revisado: 01-24-20
As reader, Anne Beggs, this is one of my favorite books ever. It deserves a better, more in depth review than I can give. Bookshop Santa Cruz has it as one of the best books of the decade and I can see why. It touched on so many aspects of humanity. I really must return to this review to do it justice, just as I will return to this incredible book. YIKES!
I must also buy a paperback book so I can dog-ear the pages and underline my favorite parts. I was constantly stopping the recording to take notes for myself and for my Book Club discussion. Rich, enchanting, insightful.
**update - got a hardback and have read and relistened to this magnificent book. And from a Christmas Carol to Nutrcracker, landscapes and memories...I just love this book and this author.

The occasion was a big birthday. And it inspired two close friends to get together in Dharamsala for a talk about something very important to them. The friends were His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The subject was joy. Both winners of the Nobel Prize, both great spiritual masters and moral leaders of our time, they are also known for being among the most infectiously happy people on the planet.

Joy and gratitude
Revisado: 04-19-19
This book, especially as an audible recording was so powerful and so gentle. I think hearing the voices was a soulful benefit over reading. I have already listened to it twice. Wish it could be required curriculum somehow... but that would remove the freedom to grow...
