Historia
As the Empire reels from its critical defeats at the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance—now a fledgling New Republic—presses its advantage by hunting down the enemy’s scattered forces before they can regroup and retaliate. But above the remote planet Akiva, an ominous show of the enemy’s strength is unfolding. Out on a lone reconnaissance mission, pilot Wedge Antilles watches Imperial Star Destroyers gather like birds of prey circling for a kill, but he’s taken captive before he can report back to the New Republic leaders.

Awful, Awful, Awful

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
get rid of the sound effects and background music, stay more true to the standards set by the starwars movies, move the story along faster, introduce new characters all at once, and cut out the pointless interludes.
What was most disappointing about Chuck Wendig’s story?
The story moves along WAY too slowly, and it's confusing enough keeping track of all the new characters but when you jump from one storyline to another so quickly it's even worse. All the interludes had nothing to do with the storyline/arc so were a waste of time and a distraction. Even worse, since you didn't know they had nothing to do with the story, there were even more characters to keep track of and be confused by.
Also, I don't remember the movies ever cussing. I could have done without all the curse words. Discussing characters sexuality when it had so little (pretty much nothing) to do with the actual story was unnecessary and unwanted. Leave it out.
There are also no Jedi or Sith in this book. At all. I understand that at this point in the story, there's only Luke but let's see some force sensitives in the story or hear what Luke is up to.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Marc Thompson?
Marc Thompson did a fabulous job, actually. He's very versatile in his voice acting and the characters at least all sounded different from one another for the most part. that helped in trying to keep them sorted out in my mind, but it was still hard. He even sounded like Admiral Ackbar and a little like Han.
I rated the performance so low because all the background music and sound effects were so distracting and gave me a headache more than once.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Chuck Wendig's performance was great. and "Mr Bones" provided some fun laughs.
Any additional comments?
Don't waste your time listening to this for clues about the upcoming movies - there's nothing obvious and the book is not worth the money I spent on it.

Historia
It is a wild and slightly unsanitary ride as Spencer, Daisy, and the rebels find themselves chased by Mr Clean's new and terrifying breed of toxite - the Sweepers. Time is short. With the fable Manualis Custodem in hand, Spencer must figure out how to summon the founding witches if they ever hope to mop up and save education.

Another fun installment

What made the experience of listening to Strike of the Sweepers the most enjoyable?
The humor in the book was great!
What does Tyler Whitesides bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Tyler voices the characters so differently that it adds a new depth of personality to them that I may not get otherwise from just reading it to myself.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I chuckled a few times.
Any additional comments?
I would have liked to see more of Rho and less of Daisy (Daisy's random comments aren''t that fun anymore - they've started to get annoying.) Some plot twists you could see coming a mile away but some were a total surprise and those are the ones that made the book enjoyable for me.
I was happy to see this released early - I didn't expect it out until the hard copy comes out on Sept 9th!
