Schizophrenia has captured my attention since 1960. My very dear friend was hospitalized for several months. We were told she had sleeping sickness. She was moved from a medical unit to a psychiatric unit. She regressed to an age of 4-6 never to gain back the very intelligent artistic person she was at 16.
Her family was very
secretive about her personality change. I remained her friend till she died at 42 CHF. Unclear of the meds she was on during her life.
I went into nursing in 1962 and one of my rotations was on the back ward. It was as they called back than “Bedlam”. Images of human beings you never forget. They came up for me reading this book. Well written and well researched.
Nature vs nurture still being researched.

There is no mention of her thinking she was poisoned anywhere. Because of their other deaths sounds accurate. The book was difficult to listen to, it provides a lot of information not found elsewhere.
