While this book is not a knock out, it is seriously good. The universe building is done very well to my taste. A good blend of numbers and story. Constant adapting to an incredible hostile and confusing environment.

Three things weird the first is the voice actor abruptly has a tonality shift at the start of some chapters that feels like the voice actor changed. Second the main character gets called dumb which is fare but so often by friends and they take too long explaining why but that’s understandable given the world. Finally the worst part of the story is the complete obsession with Kitty the love interest it just feels distasteful for a couple reasons anyone reading this has found out in book one. She is not in this book thank god, besides constant mention and her being the main quest which is kinda cringe. It kinda feels like Fallout 4 where you go through countless deathly adventures pursuing a character you didn’t even care about while you the reader are just there for the adventures.
