Historia
The Age of Reason Begins brings together a fascinating network of stories in the discussion of the bumpy road toward the Enlightenment. This is the age of great monarchs and greater artists - on the one hand, Elizabeth I of England, Philip II of Spain, and Henry IV of France; on the other, Shakespeare, Cervantes, Montaigne, and Rembrandt. It also encompasses the heyday of Francis Bacon, Galileo, Giordano Bruno, and Descartes, the fathers of modern science and philosophy.

Will Durant’s Story of Civilization provides context
Revisado: 07-09-24
Will Durant, as best as possible, helps me understand the trials and turmoil of history. This book helped me to understand that our culture “cancelling” people is our version of burning heretics. No one dies, they just lose their medical license or their reputation. The basis is the same—someone doesn’t like what they believe. Reading this book helps me to maintain my perspective on what is going on in today’s world. See if Will Durant does the same for you.

First published in 1843, it tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a mean and unpleasant man who dislikes people generally and Christmas especially. One Christmas Eve he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come and given a glimpse of the many homes and lives which Scrooge has touched in his wretched life to date. After their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man.

The Spirits of Christmas
Revisado: 12-20-23
Hugh Grant makes an excellent reader. His english accent adds authenticity to the tale of Christmas generosity and how one man can ease the burdens of others. Since everyone has seem a movie adaptation of this tale, getting back to Charles Dickens original intention is informative. I highly recommend this book!

Historia
Everything you’ve been taught about leadership is backward, beginning with the costly mistake that causes you to sacrifice money, time, and human capital day after day. It’s not a calculation error or a problem with management style—it’s repeatedly choosing revenue and results over connection and team.

Best Leadership Book ever!
Revisado: 12-04-23
This is the simplest and most direct book on leadership I have ever read. Reading it after spending time with Davis Goggins makes what Larry Yatch says easier to understand. Now comes the hard part—application and implementation.

Robert Kiyosaki - author of the #1 personal finance book of all time - has built a legacy around simplifying complex and often-confusing subjects like money and investing. He continues to challenge conventional wisdom and asks the questions that will help listeners sift through today's information overload to uncover ways to assess what's real... and what isn't. And use truth and facts as a foundation for taking control of their financial lives. In this new book, Robert fights what’s "fake" and helps listeners differentiate between what’s real...and what isn’t.

Historia
Dream killers are financial and life issues that prevent us from living life to the fullest and achieving our dreams. They include financial issues such as inflation, taxes, and market risk and life issues such as premature death, job loss, and fear. Our success or failure in achieving our goals and dreams are often dependent on how we battle these dream killers. But in today’s modern economy, life is busy and financial issues can be confusing.

Why you should insure your life!
Revisado: 02-12-22
James L. Stoddard outlines in clear & concise language the advantages & disadvantages of IUL (Indexed Universal Life), a form is permanent Life Insurance. If you haven’t heard of it, this is the best way I know of to acquaint yourself with this powerful financial product. After listening, if you don’t buy it isn’t because you didn’t know about it. A small investment that could potentially yield huge dividends. I highly recommend this audio book!

Historia
Creativity, Inc. is a manual for anyone who strives for originality and the first-ever all-access trip into the nerve center of Pixar Animation - into the meetings, postmortems, and “Braintrust” sessions where some of the most successful films in history are made. It is, at heart, a book about creativity - but it is also, as Pixar cofounder and president Ed Catmull writes, “an expression of the ideas that I believe make the best in us possible”.

I was pleased and impressed with Ed Catmull’s insights into leadership. He speaks of his experience at Pixar, still all of the problems he addresses are true of each organizations I have been involved with. I was particularly struck by his admission that he didn’t know why he had succeeded. And didn’t know how to repeat his success. His discussion of the unseen and random events really got my attention. I am going to reread this book. I think this book is worth your time and attention.
