Historia
Everything, well, almost everything, you know about American history is wrong because most textbooks and popular history books are written by left-wing academic historians who treat their biases as fact. But fear not; Professor Thomas Woods refutes the popular myths in The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History.

This book is nonsense. Do not waste your time
Revisado: 01-18-25
While I appreciate alternative views and the presentation of differing views this book goes beyond the pale. It starts with a rousing explanation of how the civil war was not about slavery but rather a disagreement about tariffs. It goes on to describe the real economics of the robber barons and how good monopoly’s really are. Folks I am more conservative in my beliefs then I am liberal or definitely progressive but you do t need to read drivel and that is what this book is. To be honest I did not finish this book but how could you given the mistruths presented in the first half of the book.

Why didn't the ancient Greeks or Romans wear pants? How did they shave? How likely were they to drink fine wine, use birth control, or survive surgery? In a series of short and humorous essays, Naked Statues, Fat Gladiators, and War Elephants explores some of the questions about the Greeks and Romans that ancient historian Garrett Ryan has answered in the classroom and online. Unlike most books on the classical world, the focus is not on famous figures or events, but on the fascinating details of daily life.

Historia
A new virus descended on the human species in 2019 wreaking unprecedented havoc. Nearly two years into the pandemic, the crucial mystery of the origin of SARS-CoV-2 is not only unresolved but has deepened. In this uniquely insightful book, a scientist and a writer join forces to try to get to the bottom of how a virus whose closest relations live in bats in subtropical southern China somehow managed to begin spreading among people more than 1,500 kilometers away in the city of Wuhan.

Finally a nonpartisan view on the origins of Covid

Great detail and supporting facts. What I appreciated more was the balanced approach to where Covid originated. Great read if you are interested in the science and origins of Covid

Thought provoking and relevant in today’s environment
Revisado: 08-05-21
Read many reviews of this book. Most were very positive the few that were not referenced a great many theory’s that have been disproven over the past few decades. I listened and heard no theory’s to be disproven. The authors presented the history then expressed opinions about them based off of thousands of years of history. The reader can decide for themselves if the opinions hold water but it’s hard to disagree with thousands of years of history. I suggest you read or listen for yourself and form your own opinions based on valuable research.

Historia
Justice Anthony Kennedy slipped out of the Supreme Court building on June 27, 2018, and traveled incognito to the White House to inform President Donald Trump that he was retiring, setting in motion a political process that his successor, Brett Kavanaugh, would denounce three months later as a "national disgrace" and a "circus". Justice on Trial, the definitive insider's account of Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court, is based on extraordinary access to more than 100 key figures - including the president, justices, and senators - in that ferocious political drama.

AlwYs interesting to get all the facts. While you will have to sort through some right wing leaning the facts do speak for themselves.

Historia
Thirty years ago, “greed is good” and “maximizing shareholder value” became the new mantras woven into the fabric of our business culture, economy, and politics. Although, around the world, free-market capitalism has lifted more than a billion people from poverty, in the US, most of the benefits of economic growth have been captured by the richest 10 percent, along with providing justification for squeezing workers, cheating customers, avoiding taxes, and leaving communities in the lurch. As a result, Americans are losing faith that a free-market economy is the best system.

Bad book on many levels
Revisado: 01-20-19
The author try’s to support his conclusion that maximizing shareholder value is destroying American capitalism. For instance xerox failed due to this along with not playing fair. Seems anyone can win a Pulitzer because the supporting causes the author states do not support his conclusions even under the simplest of investigations.
