Historia
Reacher is on a Greyhound bus, minding his own business, with no particular place to go and all the time in the world to get there. Then, he steps off the bus to help an old man who is obviously just a victim waiting to happen. But you know what they say about good deeds. Now, Reacher wants to make it right. An elderly couple have made a few well-meaning mistakes, and now they owe big money to some very bad people. One brazen move leads to another, and suddenly Reacher finds himself a wanted man in the middle of a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs.

Classic Reacher.
Revisado: 11-14-19
Classic Reacher. Not the best Jack reacher novel ever but far from the worst. Even the new narrator is very good. Of course we miss Dick Hill. But all in all very entertaining. If you are a Reacher fan you'll enjoy it.

Interesting stuff. Just goes to show a serial killer has many victims, beyond just those who were slain. George Russell was a piece of work. The world is better off with him behind bars.
The performance was spot on per usual.

The first two stories are very good.
Revisado: 02-09-18
Would you consider the audio edition of Three Jack Reacher Novellas (with Bonus Jack Reacher's Rules) to be better than the print version?
Dick Hill "IS" Jack Reacher so any Reacher books read by him are better because of him.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Three Jack Reacher Novellas (with Bonus Jack Reacher's Rules)?
Deep Down is the best of the three stories in my mind.
Which character – as performed by Dick Hill and Lee Child – was your favorite?
The antagonist in Deep Down is unique in the Jack Reacher universe.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Well, the first 2 stories are great... Deep down is as good as any Reacher novel. High Heat is fun and kind of unique in the way it weaves in some actual historical events. The NY blackout and Son of Sam, etc. I have to be honest Jack Reacher's Rules are a waste of time. If you read Reacher novels and enjoy them there's probably no reason to listen to Jack Reacher's Rules.
Any additional comments?
Don't get this for Jack Reacher's Rules. It's just a thrown together mess. Plus it doesn't add anything to Reacher's story. If you're a huge Reacher fan it might be fun to listen to and try and remember in which novel each quote comes from, but otherwise sort of a waste of time. Deep Down is Awesome and High Heat is a lot of fun. Get this for those stories. They are totally worth it.

Probably the best opening of any Jack Reacher book
Revisado: 02-09-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, the opening chapter totally sucks you in.
What other book might you compare Gone Tomorrow to and why?
I enjoy all the Jack Reacher books
What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?
Dick Hill "IS" Jack Reacher... at least for me anyway. Even when I read Reacher novels in paperback form, I find my mind reading them in Dick Hill's voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
The opening bit in this book is the best opening of any Reacher novel in my opinion.
Any additional comments?
Some say the ending of this one doesn't live up to how great the start of the novel. I sort of agree. Which is not to say the ending is bad. It is just that the opening is so very good.

Fascinating and detailed
Revisado: 02-09-18
Would you listen to The Bundy Murders: A Comprehensive History again? Why?
Yes, I have listened to it more than a few times now. I go back to it often because it's told in a way that brings the events to life.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Bundy Murders: A Comprehensive History?
I'd always heard that Bundy was a careful killer who was so smart that he outsmarted the police. While that was true sometimes, sometimes he also took targets of opportunity and just plain got lucky more than once.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The two times Bundy failed to satisfy his inner demon, he totally lost his cool and had to find targets. He slid down from the cool calculating killer to a rapid crazed lunatic.
Any additional comments?
Since reading this, I've read a bunch of stuff on Bundy, including Ann Rule's book. I come back to this one most often.

Back when Jack was still a Major
Revisado: 07-28-17
What made the experience of listening to The Enemy the most enjoyable?
If you are a Jack Reacher fan, you'll love listening to this story about back when Jack "none" Reacher was still in the Army.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I didn't see the end twist coming. I should have. Upon a second time through the book you recognize all the clues that Lee Child dropped in there for you. But I have to confess, I missed them the first time through.
Which character – as performed by Dick Hill – was your favorite?
Dick Hill IS Jack Reacher. at least in my mind. Even when I read a Jack Reacher story for myself, I read them in Dick Hill's voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I thought this one had a great ending. I still can't believe I missed the twist. Looking back it should have been obvious.

Historia
Thumbing across the scorched West Texas desert, loner Jack Reacher has nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there. Cruising the same stretch of two-lane blacktop is pretty Carmen Greer. But for Reacher, the lift comes with a hitch. Carmen's got a story to tell, and it's a wild one. All about her husband, her family secrets, and a hometown that's pure Gothic. She's also got a plan. Jack Reacher's part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.

An extremely Jack Reacher-ish Jack Reacher story
Revisado: 07-28-17
Would you listen to Echo Burning again? Why?
Yes, of course. This one probably isn't the greatest mystery in terms of a Jack Reacher story. The story is solid, the bad guy is just okay, the damsel in distress is interesting and a strong character. But this story is extremely "Jack Reachery" if that makes any sense. You get all kinds of classic Reacherisms in this one.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot is okay. The bad guy is decent, but far from the best Reacher bad guy out there.
What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?
Dick Hill "IS" Jack Reacher. Nobody reads Reacher novels like Mr Hill.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
It's a hot situation, in a hot town, with a hot woman.... Of course Jack Reacher will remain cool.
Any additional comments?
I like this Reacher story because Reacher does all the "Reacher-type" stuff. He meets the hot women. He's a gentleman to the end. He trusts his gut in the face of seemingly overwhelming evidence to the contrary. (Of course, he turns out to be right.) He hitch-hikes. He befriends the little kid. He eats in cheap diners. He stays in cheap places. He wears cheap clothes... Of course he gets the bad guy in the end and rides off into the sunset.

I Confess: I missed Dick Hill
Revisado: 07-28-17
What did you love best about Tripwire?
Tripwire did 2 things really well. First, it tells the story of Reacher's famous "pinky" sized scar on his chest. Second, There are a couple of surprises along the way that I'm betting not even the most hard core Lee Child fan will see coming.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
One of the best and most memorable Jack Reacher bad guys. The bad guy is really well written with an interesting back story.
Have you listened to any of Johnathan McClain’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Johnathan McClain is solid. I've enjoyed other readings by him. However, I confess: I missed having Dick Hill. When I listen to Reacher stories, Dick Hill is Reacher. Even when I read Reacher stories for myself, I read them in my Dick Hill voice in my head.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, all of the Reacher stories are gripping and this one is no exception.
Any additional comments?
I won't spoil the ending: But one thing troubled me is why on Earth didn't the Private Investigator/Former NYC police officer pick up the Beretta on the floor and help Reacher in the climactic scene. I realize Lee Child writes Reacher stories where normally Reacher is a one-man-army indestructible and bulletproof. But I found it hard to believe that this former NYC police officer, only in his late forties would not have leapt up, grabbed either the Beretta on the floor or the shotgun and helped Reacher out in the climactic scene. If not him, than Marilynn Stone, she proved herself to be tough and courageous throughout the story, but she too just sits there... maybe she's not a gun person and has no idea how to use one? But the P.I. should have helped out. I'm curious what other readers/listeners thought about that scene.
