Fantastic, Funny & Thoughtful

Clearly Jeff Daniel’s is a supremely talented actor capable of playing extremes ….silly Harry from Dumb and Dumber to serious Atticus Finch on Broadway. I was always impressed w his Will Mcavoy in Sorkin’s Newsroom . But I was aware he was a guitar collector. Turns out he is a good song writer…the Al Kaline song Is a tear jerker. Lastly, Must listen to the chapter 3 Hilarious interview of Jeff Daniel’s fictional character, Harry, from The movie “Dumb and Dumber talking w the real Jeff Daniel’s , who performs both parts .

An Incredible Musician That Git Lost Somewhere Along The Way

I have been a Sheryl fan since the 1st album. Great story about the hard road to success, Michael Jackson, Azoff, suicides of friends or musicians. But surprised by how troubled she was/is. Sometimes we think the grass is always greener. But for her it seems like a lot of tough times. At least that what is portrayed.

What a treat to hear JT read his own early life story.

For me the Best part is when he says he now is the family patriarch . In his fathers family history, the Taylors all went to college and became Drs and lawyers. But James forged a new path that most of his family did...skipping college, going to rehab mental health hospitals and joining the music business.

For all of Claptons early career raw talent in Cream, etc. it was a mistake to for Clapton to publish this book that exposes the mythic “Clapton is God” to actually Be “Clapton is an immature addict that basically runined the wonderful possibilities that life offered him. “

I agree with another reviewer who said, “this book serves to eradicate any vestige of guitar hero worship. It made me feel better about myself: at least I'm not a miserable, pathetic, self-centered, putz like this dude. Thanks Clapton.”

Filled with a few solid good stories about behind the scenes . Loved the managers renegotiation of the record contract. Overall a good story, good guy . But a sad tell all portrayal of drugged out excess of 80s rock and roll and the eventual split apart of van halen
