Honestly just a rehash of the books when they take over the islands. Kill off characters replace them with former enemies. I feel like the writer wrote himself into a corner and just decided to kill off some characters. A lot of tension to go nowhere.

Just dumb

The series started out semi grounded then completely jumped the shark. To be honest when the other writer left the series it started getting progressively worse. Also this author has some issues with women apparently… the writing on Sara, ick.

Is this even the same series? Suddenly all of the man characters are struck by angst driven stupidity and make blindly dumb choices. Meanwhile the spetnaz are protected by ten tons of weapons grade cope and Russia strong meme level plot armor. Meanwhile the plot drags along, the series has always had issues with long drawn out story lines but this book drags out 1 minute of a firefight over 6 chapters… By far the worst book of the series.

Jeremy Robinson's Colossal Ego

Spending half a fictional book talking about yourself... Masturbatory much? Small self reference fine, but to make yourself a central piece of the plot? Completely broke immersion in the story. On a side note RC Bray was great as always.

Meh end to the series

Left a few too many plot points on the table. Felt rushed. Had some darker themes which were actually pretty welcomed and different for the series. Felt like the author just wasn't into it or dealing with something else in their life.

I love the first 3 books in this series. But by earth does this book drag on and on and onnnn. We get it things are bad we don't need 30 chapters to beat a dead horse. Honestly 15 hours of this book were just whining and a complete 180 in character development. Oh no I can't do anything, oh no my powers are gone, oh nooooo.
