Historia
Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less", there is an alternative.

Unconventional but full of truth
Revisado: 11-11-24
The author build the book with a lot of new or unconventional premises. The fact that he is the narrator works great for the overall experience since those premises must be explained and supported. Even as a long book not boring at all,

Historia
"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." A bit heavy, but full of great reflections
Revisado: 10-10-24
Loved narration, ego in general is a concept pretty ambiguous so is the book, a bit heavy in my opinion but anecdotes and characters do connect with the whole concept of the book. Might be a good idea not to read it while commuting or working out.

Historia
Now, for the first time, Seth Godin offers the core of his marketing wisdom in one compact, accessible, and timeless package. This Is Marketing shows you how to do work you're proud of, whether you're a tech start-up founder, a small-business owner, or part of a large corporation. Great marketers don't use consumers to solve their company's problem; they use marketing to solve other people's problems. Their tactics rely on empathy, connection, and emotional labor instead of attention-stealing ads. When done right, marketing seeks to make change in the world.

Great insights, pace and voice did not help
Revisado: 02-12-24
Loved the message, true and down to earth. The performance was kind of slow and hard to stay listening for long periods, lacked on emphasis… did still gave a 5 star rating

Historia
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Awesome book! Great tips no BS
Revisado: 10-02-23
Narration is great, this is a true example why it is important on an audiobook to be read by the author thumbs up!
The concepts explained might have been heard before, the main difference is how Ramit approaches them… and it is a huge one!
Loved how sarcasm, silly jokes and emphasis are used to make de point!
Highly recommended

Historia

Cheesy but real
Revisado: 04-01-21
I’m no usually that into attracting, calling or asking the universe what I want or deserve. Most of the book it’s about that, how to face your fears or misconceptions (specially about money and success) affirming that you deserve something. Despite that universe thing book is great written and amazingly narrated, thanks probably what I enjoyed the most, narration. There are some golden nuggets along the way and very enjoyable experience! Highly recommended
