But living on the south-side of Chicago, life at home is nothing but. He is living in a drug-infested community with a residence overrun with roaches that should be condemned. With an addict for a mother, who’s in a self-induced comatose state most of the time, he’s not in a situation that he can easily test out of.

Wonderful read from start to finish

Peagler takes your mind and heart on a powerful journey from start to finish. The characters are well developed and masterfully brought to life by the narration. I could feel the joy and pain of all the characters and loved the suspense built along the way. Jacob’s Ghetto gives voice and validation to all sides of the human experience of feeling trapped by circumstances. There are human beings in our nation’s ghettos, and Peagler has invited all of us to see the fierceness of their courage and plight. Bravo!
