Historia
How did American military leaders in the brutal POW camps of North Vietnam inspire their followers for six, seven, and even eight years to remain committed to the mission, resist a cruel enemy, and return home with honor? What leadership principles engendered such extreme devotion, perseverance, and teamwork? In this powerful and practical book, Lee Ellis, a former Air Force pilot, candidly talks about his five and a half years of captivity and the 14 key leadership principles behind this amazing story.

I was humbled by the sacrifices made
Revisado: 01-13-13
I normally only listen to business books and rarely deviate from them. I expected this book to be another hard core business book and was a bit surprised that it was actually a mixture of both business and the authors experiences while in prison during the Vietnam war. Wow, was I glad that I overlooked the books overview. This was one of the most inspiring, motivational and humbling book. The author parallels the leadership skills exhibited while in enemy prison with business leadership.
This was the first time that I learned the details of the Vietnam prison conditions and the leadership skills exhibited to sustain their well being for years in prison. I was extremely humbled by the sacrifices made by our military. Because of this, every American should listen to this audio book to better understand our history.
Also, I especially appreciated the fact that the author made the audio recording himself. He is genuine and enthusiastic.
This is a book you defiantly should consider adding to your library.

Historia
A business parable about how to create a start-up that won't trap you when you want to sell it. According to John Warrillow, the number one mistake entrepreneurs make is to build a business that relies too heavily on them. Thus, when the time comes to sell, buyers aren't confident that the company-even if it's profitable-can stand on its own. To illustrate this, Warrillow introduces us to a fictional small business owner named Alex who is struggling to sell his advertising agency.

What did you love best about Built to Sell?
"Built to sell" helps the reader to understand why is it important to grow your business with the intentions of someday selling it, even though you may change your mind. It the long run, you will have a better business. In addition the book causes the reader to reflect on focusing on the one thing the business is good at and developing it. The most difficult thing to learn is not what to do, but what NOT to do to grow your business so that someone will desire to buy it in the future.
Any additional comments?
Above all other books - this is a must read for business owners.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you think your daughter is abnormal this book will help you understand why she may actually be normal.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
Most teenage girls have a set pattern and phases of their lives. More times than not, if a young girl does NOT fit one of the typical phases, she is not the norm (and you are lucky!). This book helps one to understand that when your young girl does not want to talk to you, but will spend hours talking to her friends, or if the only person she cares about is herself, or one moment she is kind and compassionate and the next she does not want to be seen with you --- this book is for you. When you encounter these extreme mood swings or attitudes, you will know how to respond or to not to respond. As a dad to a teenage daughter, I wish I had read this book several years ago (like my wife suggested). It would have helped me ride out the challenging years of young girls.
