very political

This series is very political, and is clearly drawing parallels between the Tribari government issues and humanity's issues. But there is also a fair amount of character development, and drama at play, so it is not purely political.
i loved the narration. i thought the accent would bother me at first, but I got used to it very quickly and found that it added to the story.

I was given this audiobook and am freely reviewing.
In just this short story, a whole world is implied even though it is not detailed. The characters became real people to me almost immediately. Even where I disagreed with perspectives or decisions, I still saw the person making those decisions. This made the story quite moving to me, and I look forward to continuing the series.

of OSC's works this one is a touch more allegorical and convoluted than the others. nonetheless, it was a captivating tale, and I really enjoyed it.

wow this book was captivating. The reader dis a remarkable job, especially with those name pronunciations! i read the rest of the series the old fashioned way, but continued to hear the narrator's voice in my head. tremendous work!

Starts slow, but builds solid characters

This was an interesting tale. I found that the story dragged a bit in the beginning, but that was, in part, due to the slow reading pace of the narrator. Once I turned it up to 1.33X speed, I found it much more palatable. I think it was also a bit slow because the author was taking his time to develop rich, and deep characters with detailed pasts - and that takes time. I'm sure the foundation built at the beginning of this book will lead to a story that is worth the wait in the rest of the series.
