Fantastic story

I’ve recently gotten into the ‘litrpg’ genre. This was a fantastic read/listen. The number of times stats are read off is not extreme at all (this was mentioned in another review but it really does not happen a lot and it helps to know the stats when they are read).
The story is filled with interesting and reasonable choices that this person, Ajax, makes starting from infancy. It doesn’t drag. The story seems well thought out and it was truly enjoyable!
It appears the story may have about 300 more chapters than is on Audible so far, so I look forward to the next book!

Wonderful Christ-filled adventure for kids and adults

I am a conservative mother with a precocious reader (age 7). Trying to find books at her level to read but also with themes and morals appropriate for her age and our family is so very hard. I am very glad to say that Millie Maven is a big win!
I always try to read before my child does, and this trilogy being on Audible was a major help! The reading/performance was great. I loved the books, and my 7 year old finished reading (not audio) the books in 4 days! That’s how amazing the story was; constantly being pulled into the story. My child was so entranced that at one point I found her crying about part of the story in book 2 (it’s not scary or terrible really, but she was just so very invested that a negative moment really bothered her). I love that this had so many great messages overall, while continually engaged the reader in the adventure.

Too much cursing and sexualizing for me

The premise of the story seems really good, and I got to chapter 8 before quitting. Overall, from the very beginning, there’s too much cursing and discussion about rape/sex in general for me to enjoy. If that doesn’t bother you, it probably would be a book worth listening to. The narrator was very good.

Check out the 3 star and below reviews. They all say the issue with this series.
To summarize: terrible narration, bad story writing (ignoring clearly said things and saying that they only happened chapters later, poor development of characters), and no reason to listen. This is not an academy book (only part of first book) and the telling of the events is really terrible. I thought I would be able to at least get through it, but I returned it with 4 hours left because it was honestly that bad.
Just check out the other reviews before wasting money or a credit.

Overall, I enjoyed the story

I enjoyed the narration for the most part (there’s a couple of odd sequences, but nothing horrible). However, there are some amazingly terrible and annoying writing flaws such as constantly referring to something months ago as a few years ago and acting as though something wasn’t mentioned earlier in the same chapter or chapter before (approximately 2-4 minutes of reading time before) and 6 weeks left at school turns into 3 months… stuff like that.
Storyline overall was enjoyable, though nothing that would make me excited to read another book on this. It was worth the credit for sure. No doubt about that.

Quite enjoyable!

I am enjoying this series. I like the characters and they are written well. I don’t see any major gaps in the story to this point. Good fantasy story.

Listened to this in only 3 days. It was that good!

I really enjoyed this book. I listened at 1.6x speed, and I completed listening in just 3 days because the story and narration was honestly fantastic. This week required some extra down time and driving, but even in the normal hustle and bustle of 3 young kiddos and working full time, I probably would have gotten through in a week.
If you enjoy a story that is not predictable, is full of magic, and has some romantic ideas (nothing sexually charged), this is an excellent choice. It is a bit weird in the beginning, but once it really begins I got lost in the story and stopped questioning as much. At least give it to the second hour before you consider whether you are enjoying it or not.
Narrators have ruined many books for me in the past (where I've returned a book after 4 minutes in, more than once...), but this narrators does an excellent job!

Long and enjoyable

I really enjoyed this series, at least 98% of the time. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who believes the summary sounds good. The narrator did a fabulous job.
