Craig Schaefer is one of my favorite authors, and I am really enjoying this series. The characters, including the villains, are realistic and believable. The heroes are all likeable. The action is nonstop. A very enjoyable read.

I was very disappointed in the story itself.

The blurb said "An exploration of human duality and forces of good and evil, this modern retelling is compelling and eerie and retains the disturbing nature of the original text." However, there was no exploration of human duality, which I was really looking forward to. I thought we would get inside Henrietta's head, to learn about this struggle. Instead, the story is told from a third person, a friend of Henrietta's. So while it was a little bit of a horror story, but not really, it definitely did not live up to the blurb. A major disappointment.

However, the narration is good.

I have enjoyed the Primordia series, and the narration is good. I was just disappointed in how the trilogy wrapped up. Ben and crew were annoying. I would have loved to travel further with Andy and his little buddy.

This is my favorite series, and this novel is as good as the first. The action is non-stop, and you really care about Daniel and his family. I highly recommend it!

Pretty good end of the world novel

This novel was pretty good. The plot has me intrigued, but just like the first one in the series, there is too much unnecessary time spent inside the main character's head. And she is still unrealistic ally stupid about things. But the plot has me interested enough to read the third installment.

Good plot, too much exposition

The plot is intriguing and made me want to continue, in spite of the fact that there were many times I couldn't stand the whiny protagonist. There is also way too much time spent in her head. If I had been reading instead of listening, I would have skipped over all that naval gazing she does. This would be a 5 star novel if the author or his editor had pruned all that. That said, the plot has snagged me and I'm going on to the second novel in this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this reading of Named of the Dragon. The story sweeps you in and Katherine Kellgren's delightful voice doubles the pleasure.
