I didn't make it very far into this one. Mostly my fault. I thought this was a more science based look in to the affects of psychedelics as it applies to human consciousness, depression, meaning, etc. Especially related to the biological evolution of our minds.

It's actually far more anecdotal, metaphysical and somehow included gender studies?

Typically I'd just delete the book and move on. But this book is/was in the non-fiction section when it would fit better in the metaphysical, spiritual, or maybe political section. I just made this review to help anyone from possibly being misled by the title.

However if you are curious about the more metaphysical stuff, this may be worth a listen.

The report is astonishingly thorough. It's a bit pedantic at first but once the details of the events start coming to light, it is dramatic; it is frustrating; it is a must-read.

The second part of the report about obstruction of justice actually reads like crime drama. It is way more interesting than you'd expect and worth the listen.

Minor spoilers!
Not to wholly spoil the report for you, but there's substantial evidence that's just hung up by minor legal loopholes (knowing who you're talking to, being able to prove the value of the goods in question, jurisdiction of the counsel, immunity while in office, attorney client privilege). All the evidence that events occurred, that the intent was there, and subsequent behavior once the investigation was known all support prosecution for a myriad of crimes.

It is a frustrating listen. It'll be interesting to see where we go from here. But this case is far from over. If Congress doesn't take action they risk creating precedent for future presidents' questionable actions.

First, the only drawback of this book is the amount of tangents and digressions. From the narrator to the interviewees, there are a lot of sequence breaks.

It may be a narration which turns to a quote. A quote that's reminiscing to a quote that they're making from someone else. That choppy flow with names (excellently pronounced) in multiple languages make this listen difficult to follow at times.

Aside from that, the book is amazing. It explains so much on how the Vatican came to be so gay. Why the contradictions with condemning homosexual acts but never punishing child molesters. It's complex and sad. And there's just so much. The absurdity to which some of these men exploited their power will have you yelling out loud.

But there are touching, humanizing points as well. The book is a emotional rollercoaster. I strongly recommend this book. Not because I'm gay or because I'm an atheist. But because it's a fascinating story about humans and their inner struggles.

So...Everything is actually worse than you think

This book was phenomenal. I mean its horrifying, but for those of us interested in knowing more about how the government functions, this is an essential listen.

The recurring problems of how the Trump administration mismanaged the handover of control is disheartening. Similar to how presidential candidate Andrew Yang's stump speech illustrates how the economy is worse than you think, Micheal Lewis does an extraordinary job illustrating how bad mismanagement affects essential functions of the government. Functions you didn't know it had.

It's a great book, but it will make you worry...a lot.
