Suspense

Mr. Whittaker, writing in a terse, spare, style, tantalizes us with answers to our questions just around the corner and stuns us with unexpected events. Impossible to put down.

Why, for centuries, did rich people fear fruit? In her brilliantly and creatively researched book, Lucy Worsley takes us through the bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen.

Well written but more for younger ages since the hero is 13 years old. If there’s such a thing as gentle fighting, this would be it. Can be enjoyed by other ages however. I’m 74 but could still appreciate it. Tim Gerard Reynolds is wonderful as usual.

I enjoyed this so much! I’m not a science nerd so I zoned out a bit on some of the details but the wonderful story swept me along. Unpredictable, colorful and so much more. Narrator Ray Porter is my new favorite as he got me so involved as he acted his way through it. I’ve recommended him and it to lots of people. Including you now!

Historia
In true Dickensian fashion, The Old Curiosity Shop offers a humorous yet devastating depiction of both the most honourable and most corrupt members of 19th-century English society. Hailed by Queen Victoria as being ‘interesting and cleverly written', The Old Curiosity Shop introduces listeners to the uniquely colourful characters of Nell Trent, her young friend, Kit, her doting grandfather and the evil moneylender to whom they all fall prey, Daniel Quilp.
