The narration! Yuck
Revisado: 04-23-25
I guess I’m one of the few who found the narration awful. The main character, Sarah, I couldn’t stand her voice. It just graded on me-and the male characters? It sounded like they were totally overacting. If you read the other book, you know what will happen this one. I love how the main character always says. Everybody else is terrible ,yet it’s her. But you know that. Would not recommend.

I am slowly suffocating but I know Tom will never, ever let me leave alive. A chance encounter with Savannah changes everything. Tom couldn’t tear his eyes away from her. Could she be my saviour?

Ok listen, but..
Revisado: 04-18-25
OK, I’ll be the one to say it. I have experience with being abused more specifically psychological/emotional sort of like this. As someone who experienced this, this was bordering on the ridiculous. You would think if You wanted to get out of a relationship, dirty photos of you wouldn’t matter. And the part that she couldn’t get her passport or birth certificate? Are you kidding me? All she had to do was have the cops there. He can’t hold onto her stuff. All she did was whine . You wanna feel sorry for her because nobody deserves abuse, but you can’t because she just makes stupid decisions. I love how she and other wives blame the prostitute for everything. Really? What about their husband’s? I could go on and on, but you get the gist. Could’ve been a good story. If you want a good one like this, read the last Mrs. Parish by Liv Constantine. Much much better. This was like a really bad lifetime movie with the worst actors ever.

Historia
Twenty-five years ago, Maggie Holt and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. Three weeks later they fled in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors. His horror memoir of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity — and skepticism.

Fun read not scary, but..the female narrator!
Revisado: 02-18-25
If you’re looking for Stephen King, this isn’t it. I’ve read a few of these authors books and they’re fine enjoyable. They pass the time and they’re fun. Light reads for me anyway. I like the story. Yes it was impossible, but it was enjoyable. The female narrator was awful. I don’t know if it was just her or the way the daughter was written, but it just didn’t work. It was like you were talking to a six-year-old not a 30-year-old. I did like that There were two different points of view especially the father’s. If you just wanna pass the time, it’s not bad.

Will this catch of the day turn into the dish of a lifetime?

Pathetic woman
Revisado: 02-01-25
I guess I’m the only one who found the lead character totally pathetic. It’s like she was living in the 50s. Everybody wants love- I get that, but she was willing to go out with anything and sacrifice herself for a man. Over and over again, how awful her life was without a man. How desperate she was- it was really disconcerting. I love to listen to these books just for fun (like a Hallmark movie, )but even this one made me wanna vomit. I’d pass.

Historia
Ten years after graduation, Jessica Miller has planned her triumphant return to her Southern, elite Duquette University, down to the envious whispers that are sure to follow in her wake. Everyone is going to see the girl she wants them to see - confident, beautiful, indifferent. Not the girl she was when she left campus, back when Heather Shelby's murder fractured everything, including the tight bond linking the six friends she'd been closest to since freshman year.

I can’t believe this author wrote this
Revisado: 01-16-25
I can’t believe the same author wrote the last housewife. That book had so much going on and a really interesting premise . This is terrible. A bunch of college kids get together for a reunion and it keeps flashing back to when they were in college. Things happen- whatever. The girl who is the main character is completely annoying. The narration is terrible. Could not get into it -didn’t finish it. Don’t waste a credit.

Meghan, Brecia, and Skye have just one thing in common. They were all murdered by the same man. He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman, a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves. He’s gotten away with murder three times now. The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered. Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. And they won’t rest until they find a way to stop him.

Great story
Revisado: 01-04-25
This is a great story. It seems some people were disappointed that it really wasn’t a thriller. It was so much more than that. It was a real story of love and loss. We as human beings always focus on ourselves when a loved onedies-of course! We fail to think about how the deceased could possibly feel (if there are such things as ghosts.)I love that it was written from their point of view ,their emotion -the love, the loss the heartache. It was definitely a different take. I thought the story was great and it was a different idea. I recommend.

These women are total dingbats!
Revisado: 12-26-24
First of all this book sounds like it was written for a 15 year-old. Ms. McFadden just churns them out and they’re progressively getting worse and worse. The grammar is terrible and they all have reactions like they’re in high school. Especially the women. They are incredibly stupid-even the doctor.I listened because it was like a car crash. I just wanted to see the mess. If you like reading about stupid women who talk like they’re in high school school, this is for you.

Great book, but the narrator should not do accents!
Revisado: 12-21-24
I thought this was a great book. Interesting idea-well thought out and written. Of course it could never happen, but that’s half the fun. The narration was fine except when the narrator did an accent. It was laughable. She should stick to what she knows. Otherwise great book.

Read the first one as well
Revisado: 12-15-24
There is a book prior to this - its the details the affair. Read that so you get a better overall sense of the story. Yes,the story is told three different times by three different people, but it’s different. Some people are complaining about that but you’re getting the perspective from three different people so it’s interesting. Having been involved in something like this,I can say a lot of this is true and hits very close to home. Clearly, the author has experience in this matter. I highly recommend.
