Historia
For Lady Sabrina, it's a case of too many suitors…Lady Sabrina Grayson is embarking on her first season, but she's no blushing ingénue. She knows exactly what she wants: a calm, sensible husband very much like Lord Francis Fairford - and very unlike her childhood nemesis, the dark and devilish Henry, Viscount Montgomery. Yet no matter how much she insists that she will not be beholden to desire, the irrepressible Henry insists on kissing her. Worse, Sabrina can't help kissing him back…Her ardent response to Henry's touch leaves him no doubt. She wants him, not Fairford, or any of the other suitors trying to win her hand.

Insufferable main character
Revisado: 02-21-25
I think the writer's abilities are evident, but the female main character was completely insufferable. I only stuck it out for the presumed happily ever after.

Historia
Our narrator should be happy, shouldn't she? She's young, thin, pretty, a recent Columbia graduate; she works an easy job at a hip art gallery and lives in an apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan paid for, like the rest of her needs, by her inheritance. But there is a dark and vacuous hole in her heart, and it isn't just the loss of her parents, or the way her Wall Street boyfriend treats her, or her sadomasochistic relationship with her best friend, Reva. It's the year 2000 in a city aglitter with wealth and possibility; what could be so terribly wrong?

What was the point?
Revisado: 01-25-24
This was a long, boring saga of depression with no resolution. At times, it was literally a boring account of her lack of activity. I expected more after reading a review and recommendation on a list of books to read this year.

Historia
Nine years ago, Vivienne Jones nursed her broken heart like any young witch would: vodka, weepy music, bubble baths…and a curse on the horrible boyfriend. Sure, Vivi knows she shouldn’t use her magic this way, but with only an “orchard hayride” scented candle on hand, she isn’t worried it will cause him anything more than a bad hair day or two.

Voice actor not for me.
Revisado: 10-15-21
I really wish I had read this book. I feel like I would have enjoyed it a lot more. The voice actor was difficult to listen to for the majority of the book.

Historia
Josie Bianci was killed years ago on a train during a terrorist attack. Gone forever. It’s what her sister, Kit, an ER doctor in Santa Cruz, has always believed. Yet all it takes is a few heart-wrenching seconds to upend Kit’s world. Live coverage of a club fire in Auckland has captured the image of a woman stumbling through the smoke and debris. Her resemblance to Josie is unbelievable. And unmistakable. With it comes a flood of emotions - grief, loss, and anger - that Kit finally has a chance to put to rest: by finding the sister who’s been living a lie.

Good read
Revisado: 08-25-20
I didn't think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. I initially struggled with it, but got really hooked about halfway through. I liked the character development, the human essence of the characters.
