Narration ruined it for me

I couldn’t make it past the first chapter. The narrator has a sing-song voice that doesn’t change. It remains Irritating constantly. Although i gave the story one star, really i don’t know since I couldn’t make myself listen past Chapter 1 but i was unable to leave the story rating blank.

It all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did. I'm a professional fluffer. It's not what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits. Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I'll wait. See? That's the problem. My career has used the term "fluffer" for decades. I didn't even know there was a more...lascivious definition of the term. Until it was too late.

Too Many Recipes!

I usually really enjoy listening to these books about Hannah Swenson. I find them entertaining, sometimes humurous and more realistic than other cozy mysteries. I've listened to every one of them. This book was disappointing for me. There was little room for the plot with so many recipes s-l-o-w-l-y recited throughout the audiobooks. I don't mind a few recipes here and there but this one was just packed with too many! Because of this the story seemed slow and there just wasn't enough of it.
