Decent book, HORRIBLE female narrator
Revisado: 04-02-25
Story is fine if you're after a spicy minotaur romance. No complaints there. The book does its job.
Male narrator is great. Female narrator is horrible. She is over the top and dramatic constantly, which is made worse by her slow reading. I could barely stand the sex scenes because her narration was so ridiculous. Will not listen to something by her again.

Great book, narration is fine
Revisado: 01-07-23
Awesome book. Easy to follow along with, clear, compassionate, and non-judgmental. it really helped me process and reset my habits with alcohol. I kept a journal alongside this and thought the prompts were thoughtful and helpful.
In terms of narration, the author is fine but not great. She occasionally moves a bit too fast or has some odd intonation. Overall it's not as finely edited a performance as one would hope. It's certainly still worth listening to, though.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

Absolutely Amazing
Revisado: 09-02-18
This is a wonderfully vivid portrait of Eliza, who seems so real and complex that I ft as though I lost a friend when the book came to a close. It is a wonderfully written book, and the creative liberties they take all seem sensible. Highly recommend this book. Initially I disliked the narrator, but she grew on me with time, and I quite adored her by the end. I will say that I think her narration is too slow as is; I never listen to audiobooks past the 1.0 speed, but I moved this to 1.25x and was much happier with it.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Amazing narration
Revisado: 08-28-18
Rosamund Pike has ruined audiobooks for me forever now because no one can compare to her. Best narration ever. She has an amazing voice for this. I have always loved the book but this might be the most enjoyable experience with it I have ever had!

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Wonderful narration
Revisado: 11-13-17
I loved the movie and thought Matt Damon was perfect as Mark, but the narrator also totally owns the character and brings him to life too. Really great voice work-- expressive, well-paced, and lively. He felt like a real person to me, and I was sad to part ways with him when it was over. Great pleasure to listen to him. The story is compelling and interesting. Well worth the credit! AUDIBLE 20 REVIEW SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY

Lovely book, great narration
Revisado: 10-24-17
The book itself is wonderful-- just as charming as an adult as I remember is being as a child when I read it. At $7, this is a steal of a deal for the audiobook. I really liked the narrator, who uses different voices for each character and brings them to life vividly. My only complaint is with the editing; sometimes in a single chapter, we bounce between characters (which in the novels is usually delineated by a row of stars, from what I remember), and there's very little pause between those breaks. It moves seamlessly right into the next perspective. It's jarring to shift so rapidly from Mathias to another character like Clooney, and it's particularly annoying if you've just listened to a particularly emotional part (like a character death)-- no time to savor the moment!
