Wonderful Series

I've so enjoyed the two books I listened to so far. The narration is wonderful and John Pickett is an adorable character! I plan to continue listening to this series and highly recommend it for those that like historical mysteries.

If you find drunk old ladies funny, you might enjoy this story. I found Aunt Shirley crass and inappropriate. Despite there being a mediocre mystery, it was just chick-lit to me. The narrator was good.

The story was good but I wish I’d read the book instead. The narration had a lot of voice variety but the dialogue tags stood out to me. It sounded edited and pieces together. Some of the voices were a little hard on the nerves but they were all distinctive.

This is not a book I would have ordinarily selected or an author I usually read, but the great reviews made me curious. I gave it a chance and I was surprised at how much I liked it. I've recommended it to others!
