Nine books in, and I want more
Revisado: 04-22-25
I’ve been listening to this series for years. From then until now, the story has only grown in scope and depth. This is honestly the kind of story that would make a fantastic long running TV series. My only downside, I have to wait until book 10.

Historia
The ninth floor. Nine armies, each led by rich and powerful aliens from across the galaxy. Each team has one objective: to capture and hold the castle at the very center of the battlefield. Strategy, alliances, pitched battles, and, of course, betrayal ... It all makes for great fun and even greater television. After all, none of these powerful aliens really die when they’re playing war. Except this time. This time, winner takes all. Those who fall, stay in the ground.

Strangest and most compelling series ever
Revisado: 03-18-25
I really don’t know how to sum Dungeon Crawler Carl up in just a few sentences. It’s insane, funny, compelling, and a wild unpredictable ride!. I’m usually turned off by the genre, but DCC really surprise me and that despite its Ludacris storyline, you are always motivated to turn the page. Highly recommend. Warning, though, if you don’t have a sense of humor, you may want to pass this one up.

"No time to delay. Do what you were born to do. Fame will be yours when you do this." These are the words that ring in the mind of mild-mannered, beloved schoolteacher Cora Gundersun - just before she takes her own life, and many others', in a shocking act of carnage. When the disturbing contents of her secret journal are discovered, it seems certain that she must have been insane. But Jane Hawk knows better.

So much better
Revisado: 12-14-24
Enjoyed the first book, totally hooked on the second. Jane continue to evolve, and IMO is the true American woman. However, new characters like Luther have brought more variety to the story. Looking forward to book 3

Never lets me down
Revisado: 12-03-24
I’ve read quite a few Koontz novels. In the past few years many have had a common darkening world theme. Combatting this darkness are many unique heroes. Mrs. Hawks is a fantastic addition to the lineup. The perfect woman, smart, clever, driven, and yes, beautiful. Very much looking forward to the next book.

I’ve loved every one of these shorts. I honestly believe that the author should consider writing a series of full books. Of course the Audible version has to include Oliver as the narrator

Historia
Darian Frey is down on his luck. He can barely keep his squabbling crew fed and his rickety aircraft in the sky. Even the simplest robberies seem to go wrong. It's getting so a man can't make a dishonest living any more. Enter Captain Grist. He's heard about a crashed aircraft laden with the treasures of a lost civilisation, and he needs Frey's help to get it. There's only one problem. The craft is lying in the trackless heart of a remote island, populated by giant beasts and subhuman monsters.

A fun, adventure filled story not derived from stand fantasy/sci-fi tropes. Steampunk firefly with a distinctly British flare.

Historia
In the small town of Bacon's Corner, powerful demons are working to ensnare the souls of the townspeople. A woman has been murdered, the Christian school is under attack, and the town is divided by a legal struggle. As heavenly beings rally to aid the faithful, gigantic evil ones are on the alert, looking for any sign of weakness. Each fast-paced chapter of this novel is filled with vivid descriptions of angels and demons. And the trials of the believers are no less absorbing. Richard Ferrone's dramatic narration highlights each test of faith and truth.

Truth in Fiction

So refreshing to read a story from the Biblical perspective, and Christian faith. I have enjoyed both books in this series. Each telling a story of redemption, mixed with a interesting narrative. Angelic commando action is icing on the cake.
