Self discovery

It's not easy being transparent as you are on your path of self discovery. To be honest it is uncomfortable and sometimes embarrassing bit if you intend to heal you have to uncover yourself unapologetically to discover who you really are with no limits. Will set us on the course and you can tell by the chapter titles that it was "game on". My youngest son enjoyed this as part of our daily commute to school opening up a lot of dialogue between us. It's on to the next Audible for me and my son and we are excited because of this being our launch.

This was everything and more

This book, this author, the narrators gave us an unfiltered reality unveiling the complexities of Black men. Troy was a conflicted character where you feared him but you revered him. You gain insight how the penal system ruins the lives of the innocent that are presumed guilty devastating those that surround them. This resonates unfortunately in our community and the writer ensures that we can no longer ignore or overlook this tragic truth. I wished that I can articulate effectively what I feel about this book but I will say that this book is phenomenal. The author is truly the voice of Black culture and Black History, especially our complicated Black men.
