Sleeping
Revisado: 01-20-25
If you are having trouble sleeping then listen to one of these stories. They’re so mindless, and the narrator has such a soothing voice, you’ll go right to sleep.

Historia
Detective Stan Sheperd lies comatose in the hospital, a victim of arsenic poisoning. The Newpointe police have a suspect: Celia Shepherd, Stan's wife.
Celia is no stranger to such charges. When her first husband died of poisoning, a technicality scuttled the case against her, and Celia got off scot-free. Now it looks like the same old story - only this time, the motive appears plain. But attorney Jill Clark thinks the pieces of the puzzle fit together a bit too neatly.

Narrator is the worst
Revisado: 11-21-24
I love TB but this story just wasn’t up to her usual great stories. It’s hard to say exactly because the narrator could be making the story worse.
The police all look like keystone cops and totally incompetent.
I wonder, does the narrator actually carry on conversations like he read this story. His cadence, tone, inflections and character attitudes are all wrong.
This book was more irritating than entertaining.

Poor Narrator
Revisado: 11-01-24
I didn’t think anyone could ruin Terri Blackstock’s books but this narrator sure tried. I regret that it appears he narrates the next one in this series as well.
His ability to do various voices and accents is really bad. The story though, is very good. I’m sure read by someone else it would have been great.

Good Clean Mystery
Revisado: 04-11-24
I really enjoyed listening and had no idea who the bad guy would be. It wasn’t filled with sex or the language that’s in so many books. If this is how this author writes I’ll look for more.
I had to slow down the narrator some because my ears don’t listen that fast.
