Useful and to the point

It's probably helpful to first listen to Allen's other title, "Getting Things Done," which puts this in context, but "Ready for Anything" is excellent. Allen explores workflow management principles that go beyond simply being more organized and therefore more productive -- he applies these principles to personal/professional effectiveness.

I've listened to this a few times now. Allen has many 'models' that he imparts, sort of overboard, but a few work for me very well. Like the 'get it out of your head' into a reliable review system. Most of all, he has helped me 'process stuff' that continually comes in via email, vmail, snail mail and phone in a more expedient manner. Also valuable is how he sorts "stuff" into different, discrete categories: next actions, projects, responsibilities, 1-2 yrs out, 3-5 years out, and big picture -- so that you end up really doing, and focusing on what really matters. 'Getting it out of your head' works for me. It does help me stay clear, current, and much more organized.
