Another Eye Rolling Adventure...
Revisado: 09-21-20
The MC is a resurrected arch mage with years of experience in everything. His former life is just a plot device that allows him to know exactly what to do at any point. He can do anything better than anyone, and the only purpose secondary charters serve is to make it clear that the MC is AMAZING! This story would be better if the author toned it down a little.

Historia
Opposites attack! When the Magelord Minalan the Spellmonger’s two apprentices, Tyndal and Rondal, were knighted after the battle of Timberwatch, they were dubbed Knights Magi: A new class of nobility for distinguished High Magi. Designed to combine the pursuit of arcane knowledge with the noble aspirations of chivalry, it elevated them above common warmage...in theory. The problem was they had no idea how to be a Knight Mage...because no one had ever been one before.

What’s was that?
Revisado: 06-21-20
In this book, the two apprentices, Tyndal and Rondal, begin their journey with distinct strengths and weaknesses. Tyndal, the physically gifted apprentice, struggles with academic challenges and never seems to overcome them. On the other hand, Rondal, the scholarly apprentice, quickly masters his combat deficiencies and even surpasses Tyndal, who has spent years honing his swordsmanship.
The story loses some of its appeal as Rondal becomes a seemingly flawless character, mastering the art of combat in just a few months without facing any significant challenges. The initial competition between Rondal and Tyndal, which was enjoyable at first, ultimately loses its impact as Tyndal is outclassed.
Unfortunately, this progression has led me to lose interest in the series, as the character dynamics have shifted in a way that diminishes the appeal of the story.

The book had so much potential! All wasted😩. The protagonist is a former war lord who regains his youth and is on a mission to make up for his son. He can do anything and know everything but is clueless is clueless in Hyde arts of keeping a low profile and maintaining his emotions. At this point I feel like the aged war lord piece serves as a plot device to explain why his so knowledgeable. What a waste.

Welcome to the Five Isles, where war has come in the name of the invading army of Sor Sevier, a merciless host driven by the prophetic fervor of the Angel Prince, Aeros, toward the last unconquered kingdom of Gul Kana. Yet Gault, one of the elite Knights Archaic of Sor Sevier, is growing disillusioned by the crusade he is at the vanguard of just as it embarks on his Lord Aeros' greatest triumph. While the eldest son of the fallen king of Gul Kana now reigns in ever increasing paranoid isolationism, his two sisters seek their own paths.

Eye Rolling Adventure!!
Revisado: 07-24-19
There are two parts to this story: The events that are taking place in the capital and what's happening in the country side. There's a point in this story when the events in the country side begins to really take off. At that point, it makes the events at the capital look silly in comparison and extremely predictable.
I only considered this book because it was narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds. You nailed again you talented son of gun!

This was a fun listen. However, it seems like the author made Tyrion made worse for the sake of the story. As a character, Tyrion has more going on for him than Mordecai. In order to bridge that gap, the author is de-evolving Tyrion to make up for the lack of character that is Mordecai.

The love story between Graham and Alyssa is ruining this book
Revisado: 08-29-18
Spoilers ahead. I’m convince someone else wrote Embers of a Illeniels (EoI)or he was assisted. I’ve read EoL And fell in love with the characters, story, and the pace. So I was thrilled when I found out that this author also published other series with in the same world. I’m halfway through this book and although it is entertaining it’s nowhere near the level of EoL. The number one thing I cannot stand about this series so far is the love story between Graham and Alyssa. It feels forced. Their relationship doesn’t really develop he meets her he falls in love with her she betrays him he forgives her.But as a reader I can’t understand why he would forgive her because the relationship never developed to the point that someone reasonable could forgive that level of betrayal.
