Historia
Addiction is a black hole that threatens to engulf our entire society. In the US alone, over 100 million people are addicted, and according to the World Health Organization, over 3.3 million people die from alcohol related deaths alone each year. Billions of dollars spent on prevention and treatment have yet to slow the ever-rising rate of addiction-related deaths. The current models have failed.

Outdated one size fits all simplistic approach

It is well known that the majority of people who have had a maladaptive relationship to a substance or behavior have either stopped or drastically cut down on the said addiction. The majority of people who stop do not go into recovery programs or 12 step meetings. This book makes it seem like every Single step regardless of the addiction is the difference between living the same life and ending up in jail or dead. Furthermore, the disease model of addiction has been thoroughly debunked. This book is stuck in the last century. I really don’t get glowing glowing reviews. I stopped halfway into the third chapter.
