Historia
Ari has spent all of high school burying who he really is, staying silent and invisible. He expected his senior year to be the same. But something in him cracked open when he fell in love with Dante, and he can’t go back. Suddenly he finds himself reaching out to new friends, standing up to bullies of all kinds, and making his voice heard. And, always, there is Dante, dreamy, witty Dante, who can get on Ari’s nerves and fill him with desire all at once. The boys are determined to forge a path for themselves in a world that doesn’t understand them.

This was an incredible follow-up to an incredible book. There are so many two or three words descriptors that exhibit incredible wisdom throughout . This is a rare author and a rare reading. Stunning.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Boring story, poor narrator
Revisado: 07-03-23
The author was wordy and directionless. The narrator had a cold or allergies and really tanked the performance.

It reads very much like a Twilight book. Just smutty enough to please and not alienate religious readers. More of a YA book than anything.

Historia
Xander Karcek has only wanted two things in his life: Christian Edwards and basketball—the man he loves and the game that let him escape a childhood he’d rather forget. His two obsessions have served him well. He and Chris beat the odds and stayed together through high school, college, and right on to the NBA. But life under fame’s microscope isn’t easy, especially when two men are pretending to be frat-buddies so the world doesn’t know they’re the next best thing to married.

Historia
In this unflinchingly honest documentary and memoir, comedian Josh Thomas asks the big question: how do I be gay? Irreverent but informative, Josh Thomas speaks to a party of hilarious and experienced queer storytellers as they share true tales and advice on how to be gay. When I was a teenager trying to work out how to be gay I would ask google impossible questions. 'Am I gay?' 'How can I test if I’m gay?' 'If I’m gay do I have to do anal?' It didn’t work....

Great series!
Revisado: 06-26-22
I love Josh Thomas’ work. Please Like Me and Everything’s Going to Be Ok were really good shows and fun explorations of various portions of his real life. This series is a continuation of that spirit and his conversations with other queer folks about their experiences was refreshing. I heartily recommend it!

Heartfelt
Revisado: 04-18-22
I’m always looking for authentic portrayal of our emotions in YA LGBTQIA+ books. This story hit me like a truck. It was so beautiful. TJ writes with complex emotion and skill. It’s not heavy-handed but really pulled at my heartstrings. I just downloaded the second book in the series and can’t wait to dive in.

Historia
Five years ago, I walked away from Sunbury, Oregon, and left my best friend behind. The move was supposed to get my life on track. I even had a list: Life changing epilepsy surgery. Check. See the world. Check. Get over my straight best friend... Not exactly. No matter where I go or who I meet, I can't let Tanner go. I'm back to tell him how I feel. To get the closure I need once and for all. Only now I'm here and falling for him all over again, it's getting harder to say the words. Because once I have my closure, I'll be gone. And this time it will be for good.

Nice story, one good narrator (Kirt Graves)
Revisado: 02-01-22
The story is sweet and conveys some honest emotion with a believable premise. Kirt Graves gives a good performance. However, Alexander Cendese narrates too quickly and the transition between narrators is jarring.

The content of the book was okay. The performance was beyond terrible. Flat and boring delivery really took away from the already hum drum story.

Historia
There are two sides to every story. When you're Tim Wyman, sometimes there are three. Tim hoped moving to Texas would mean a new beginning, but he soon finds himself falling into the same tired patterns. Until he meets recklessly brave Benjamin Bentley, who introduces Tim to a world of love, sex, and warmth. Certain that society won't understand what he and Ben have together, Tim struggles to protect their relationship, even if it means twisting the truth. Buried beneath his own deceptions, Tim must claw his way to the surface in the hopes of learning to fly.

Good content, terrible narrator
Revisado: 03-27-19
A nice follow-up to the first book. The narrator is terrible. He uses overly exaggerated and affected accents, is quite nasal in delivery, and there isn’t much difference from voice to voice—largely just a change in register. The narrator’s delivery quite negatively impacted my experience of the book.

The story is superficial and the narrator’s performance is awful. I might have a better impression of the text if there were a different narrator.
